How do you like Domri Rade with Sylvan Library , Scroll Rack , and Sensei's Divining Top for top deck manipulation? Do they provide enough for him to work well?

i find that in my group we have alot of artifact and enchantment hate... so having multiple is never bad. I like domri rade mostly because his -2 and ult. Top is an edh staple and i would put one in almost any deck. the library is for drawing and scroll rack is specifically for manipulation. ( at least that's how i think of it )

but i recently changed this deck so i have proxied out like half of it,and i haven't gotten to play too many games with it.

but your mayael deck is very cool.. i tried to pull some ideas from yours and incorporate mine. ( although my deck is still subject to change )

Primeval Titan is banned and j/c why you would use Ancient Tomb ? seems to hurt more than help

ancient tomb is amazing... in edh your life is high to begin with. It puts you ahead a turn letting you cast bigger things faster.

Do you ever have mana problems? 33 seems way too low to me. Have you tried Return to Dust instead of Slice in Twain ? Even though it doesn't draw you a card it gives you the ability to remove 2 problem artifacts or enchantments from the game. It also gets indestructible targets out of the way.

I had that in my deck at one point ( as a proxy ) but i never used it. so i just put Slice in Twain instead.

great job. i enjoy the deck idea. i'd suggest Kodama's Reach and Armillary Sphere in replacement of other sorcery land ramps. seem cheaper and more selective.

Warstorm Surge would be good in this deck. Especially with Godsire or Blightsteel Colossus ...

It seems like you've got a lot of the staples, looks pretty good! One thing though, if people hate on your deck like they hate on mine, your mana dorks will be subject to early death. They're also pretty much dead draws later in the game. (like any mana producer really...) I prefer mana rocks like Coalition Relic and Worn Powerstone to guys like Knotvine Mystic and Greenweaver Druid .

thanks for the suggestions! I dont really like the powerstone because it comes into play tapped, but the others seem like they could work. ill try and pick them up and try them.

have you thought of putting a Wild Pair or a Garruk, Caller of Beasts in the deck for getting out creatures faster i run the wild pair in my mayael and it has been very handy. also a Myojin of Life's Web is just awesome for this deck of high cost power hitters

I like all the cards you posted monkeysspade. the only problem is that i am not necessarily casting cards from my hand. Mayael the Anima and other cards like Tooth and Nail and Defense of the Heart help me cheat big creatures into play. the planeswalker is very interesting and i might start looking for this guy.

thanks for the helpful comments guys.

ya i see what you mean. also, it works for Tooth and Nail because you play creature cards from your hand. you can just also look for creature cards in your library and put them in your hand. but also if you still want to think of running those cards you can possibly run a Paleoloth so if these cretures were to die you can cheat some big creatures onto play and return some creatures back to your hand. also just another suggestion for a creature possibly is Colossus of Akros only problem with cheating him out is you still need to pay his monstrosity if you want to attack with him but he becomes a 20/20 with trample

Komamura says... #14

Those are good suggestions but I want to stay away from creatures that dont do anything besides being big.

I actually had Paleoloth in my deck at one point. It never really worked even though the thought of it was nice.

Thanks again for the suggestions... if u have more ideas go ahead and post a comment!

I think one thing to remember with Mayael is you do draw cards too. Especially running things like Regal Force and Soul of the Harvest . You have good number of mans doubles so that helps, but Wild Pair really makes your deck more toolbox-y. Check out my deck Mayael and Garruk's Wild Pair-ty if you want to see how it can be abused lol.

And a final point on Worn Powerstone . I don't run it either, but if you compare it to Greenweaver Druid the only difference is the Druid could block and will die to a sweeper.

But as you said above, if your group runs a lot of artifact and enchantment hate then it may not be any better.

there are alot of board wipes such as Nevinyrral's Disk and far far to many Sylvan Primordial s which makes even Defense of the Heart hard to resolve.

You could use Dryad Arbor for the old green sun for 0 trick! Oh and Fires of Yavimaya so all your fatties can have haste, or if you are so inclined to cash in your lands for hasty 3/3s Hammer of Purphoros might be more your slice of pie

May 23, 2014 11:11 p.m.

Komamura says... #19

I have actually tried Fires of Yavimaya in this deck and i just didnt like it. I would draw it and it would be a dead drop when i didnt have creatures or it just didnt have a huge impact. But as for Dryad Arbor , i just havent picked one up yet but since it isnt crucial i just kinda dismissed it. lol

The hammer is cool but i dont want to take out a creature. I had a huge problem of missing with mayael before... and it felt horrid. Thats why i changed it to be primarilly a creature deck with alot less removal.

Understandable, my friend has a Melek, Izzet Paragon deck and it's really bad cause he plays mostly creatures and always complains when he can't use the top if his deck but he refuses to take out creatures for spells

Other ways to cheat things in: Lurking Predators , Sneak Attack , Elvish Piper

May 28, 2014 6:18 p.m.

Komamura says... #23

I have tried Lurking Predators and i feel like it was something that was easily dealt with or i was already going to win anyway. I also have an Elvish Piper in my binder. I want to play it.. but at the same time i know people will just kill it. My play group is pretty competitive and they always have some kind of removal. Since its is a 1/1 it makes it even harder to protect.

Sneak Attack seems like a really cool card but i havent found one yet. If i can pick one up i will definatly try it.

great suggestions! XD

With such a low nonpermanent count, Genesis Wave would be great in here. Or you can go the YOLO, full retard route and play Primal Surge like my Mayael deck XD.

You definitely need an Eternal Witness in here, every green deck should play one
