Helix Pinnacle and Braid of Fire are the core of this deck. I've never seen a deck that features Omnath, Locus of Mana , but that card quickly got tied to this idea once I started working on it. This is the best draft I've done so far, but I'm definitely looking for CONSTRUCTIVE feedback on how to improve it. Please feel free to playtest it and see what you think.
UPDATE 7/7/12: TOTAL overhaul. This deck idea is about mastery of mana, through and through. In order to explain that idea, the understanding of the combo at the center of this deck is critical: Helix Pinnacle , Braid of Fire , Upwelling . If that's the combo, one would want it to be active asap. How do you mitigate the benefit that Upwelling confers to your opponents? DESTROY THEIR LANDS. This deck enables Land Destruction as a non-dickish strategy, because it actively works toward your victory (rather than just making the game take forever.) Constructive feedback appreciated!
UPDATE 7/8/12: This deck is now in a completed form, and is beginning its playtesting. First game was against Soul of Evolution. I won on turn 13, with one Braid of Fire and two Overgrown Battlement fueling Helix Pinnacle for most of the game.
Thanks! Gilder Bairn can't double the counters on Helix Pinnacle though, because Pinnacle has Shroud. It could, however, double the counters on Gemstone or Braid. I'm not sure if it'll fit, but I do appreciate the suggestion.
Doubling Season would work. It's effect does not say "target".
Magus of the Vineyard could be good...?
What about Doubling Cube ?
I noticed that Decree of Annihilation and Pillage are illegal here, for a Modern deck. Those are legal in Legacy, though.
Maybe swap out for Bramblecrush, Creeping Mold, and/or Beast Within?

Looks good! Maybe add Gilder Bairn and Paradise Mantle ? It's a great win if you have Training Grounds . And even if you don't, double counters on the pinnacle is still a great outcome.
