iRobots (Modern MTG Deck)

Well this is an affinity deck, and as most of you already know affinity has been the aggro modern monster since the modern format first began. What makes this deck such an aggro beast is its ability to play its entire hand every early in the game and thus creating an overwhelming board state that your opponent can not overcome. This deck can consistently win on turns 3-4. This is thanks to low mana costing creatures and mana ramping effects, such as, Memnite, Ornithopter, Mox Opal , Springleaf Drum , Vault Skirge, and Signal Pest. Follow this up with a single Arcbound Ravager, Cranial Plating, Master of Etherium, Etched Champion, or even a Steel Overseer and the game is over in a hurry. Even your lands synchronize with the artifact theme of this deck. You are just as likely to kill your opponent with damage from a Blinkmoth Nexus or poison from an Inkmoth Nexus as you are with any of your other creatures. Darksteel Citadel adds to your artifact count as well as providing you with a source of mana, which goes well with Cranial Plating and Mox Opal . And Glimmervoid , Mox Opal , and Springleaf Drum provide all the color mana sources you will need, which is not that many, through the course of the game.

This deck has many intricate workings and a lot of game play decision making, which is often the difference between you winning of losing a match. It is for this complex game style that makes this deck challenging to play for even advanced Magic players. So if you plan on playing this deck I would recommend practicing with it for a good while before taking it to any tournaments.
