Major Update #1 —June 3, 2016

After receiving a lot of feed back on the deck, I have decided to make an edit to the decklist. This update made the deck about $90 more than the original, so anyone wants the cheaper version let me know.

However, thanks to several community members, I think the deck has improved A LOT. Thanks to Nullifier, saber4734, patricklvanduyse, and user:Jakoté. So here are the changes:

Removed:

-2 Groundskeeper from the Mainboard and 2 moved to the Sideboard

-4 Evolving Wilds from the Sideboard

-4 Fork in the Road from the Sideboard

-4 Tunneling Geopede from the Mainboard

-4 Mountain from the Mainboard

-1 Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip from the Mainboard

-3 Burn from Within from the Mainboard

-3 Grove Rumbler from the Mainboard

Added:

+1 Chandra, Flamecaller to the Mainboard

+2 Dragonmaster Outcast to the Mainboard

+4 Undergrowth Champion to the mainboard

+2 Oran-Rief Hydra to the Mainboard

+2 Nissa's Renewal to the Mainboard

+1 Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip to the Mainboard

+2 Dragonlord Atarka to the Sideboard

+2 Oath of Nissa to the Sideboard

+2 Sword of the Animist to the Sideboard

+2 Tireless Tracker to the Mainboard

+3 Devour in Flames to the Mainboard

+2 Traverse the Ulvenwald to the Mainboard

I understand budget constraints, but fetchlands such as Wooded Foothills, and dual lands like Cinder Glade would be perfect for this deck for consistency and synergy with Akoum Hellkite. If you really can't do the budget, my suggestions are Blighted Fen and Evolving Wilds. Otherwise, I love the deck.

Other cards you can add thanks to these multiple landfall triggers is Grove Rumbler, and with a Mina and Denn, Wildborn, you can end up triggering Landfall up to 4 times, possibly more, a turn, and that can amount to a lot.

Hi taskking, if you want to activate the landfall abilities more, add in fetch lands like Wooded Foothills. Also, for a landfall deck you will need at least 25 basic lands because that is what the whole deck is about.

Remove Akoum Hellkite because those only focus on one color, and landfall and burn do not go together.(if you remove Akoum Hellkite, obviously remove Sarkhan's Triumph.) Take out Nissa's Pilgrimage and Rolling Thunder, and replace them with Scythe Leopard and Retreat to Kazandu.

Have you considered The Gitrog Monster? I think that he could work wonders with this deck. Especially with Evolving Wilds Blighted Woodland and any other fetch/sacrifice lands.

patricklvanduyse I have not, but i do see it's possible advantages. But would it be worth it to have one black cars? Also with the land sacrifice it would be nice to have a bounce affect. Any suggestions for that? I know of one in SOI but it has a high converted mana cost and only works once.

I love the deck but I have some thoughts for making it better. As long as Omnath, Locus of Rage is on the battlefield Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip can also be used to destroy your own elemental creatures and deal damage directly to your opponent. Also adding Chandra, Flamecaller would be an excellent combo with Omnath, Locus of Rage. Her +1 puts two 3/1 Elementals with haste on the battlefield. You attack with those two and if they block they take 6 damage and if they don't block they take 6 damage. There's no way around it.

saber4734 I really want to add Chandra, Flamecaller but she is worth 1/3 of the rest of deck. I think after I test the deck some more I'll add her. And I'm glad you like the deck, I enjoy playing playing it against my friends.

taskking I understand cost is always an issue. I built the deck and I have made other changes that you might consider. I removed Tunneling Geopede and replaced it with Tireless Tracker. It is essentially the same cost and same power/toughness. But this way you get clues for card draw and sacrificing those clues means permanent +1/+1 counters. While I see the reasoning behind Groundskeeper I found him to be nothing more than a chump blocker and rarely saw his ability come into play. I swapped him out for Dragonmaster Outcast. This does 2 things. He might force someone to use their burn so as to not have to deal with him late game. But if they don't then his 5/5 Dragons give you a definite answer for flying creatures. Also I reduced the land to 24 and added a play set of Sylvan Advocate because he has a land ability. I feel 24 lands is enough with all the fetching you have. Lastly i'd suggest maybe taking out 1 Burn from Within and replacing it with Devour in Flames.

saber4734 I like them... a lot actually, But once again cost is an issue. I really do like these changes, how does the deck play with the changes?

taskking I've been testing it out. My friend loves to run Allies so that's primarily what it has been tested against. It has performed quite well. His Allies do that whole he gains 1 life and I lose 1 life. Or more life depending on his board state. But with numerous copies of Jaddi Offshoot on board and 3 to 4 Pulse of Murasa you can regain life quite fast to remain in the game. And with Dragonmaster Outcast and Omnath, Locus of Rage popping out 5/5s on the ground and in the air you can reduce his life even with his life gaining Allies. Get rid of Tunneling Geopede and Grove Rumbler to make room for changes. Drop Groundskeeper to 1 or 2. Oh and I took Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip out of the deck. I was having trouble flipping her since the deck now has more green in it than red. What cards do you need to help with your build? Perhaps I can help.

I like the deck, you should consider Nissa's Renewal because if you top deck that it can win you games or save your life, Undergrowth Champion is really good against an aggro match up or a heavy burn deck, Swell of Growth is amazing if you can get it through with Grove Rumbler, Oath of Nissa is an AMAZING card early and late game, it can get you a land if you missed a land drop, Oran-Rief Hydra is an amazing card late game especially if you play Nissa's Renewal and get 3 forest cards with it, Dragonlord Atarka as a one of or 2 of would be amazing in this deck, Sword of the Animist is also good in this build, also Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip is an amazing landfall producer

@Nullifier Thanks for those card tips. I like the idea of Nissa's renewal. I think I'll try to make room for Nissa's planewalker as you're right it'd be really good. Budget is the only thing that gets me.
