Nice take on Locust God! If you can, I HIGHLY suggest you make room for Shared Animosity. It wins games with just a handful of insects

I really like Vicious Shadows type cards in this deck. They turn boardwipe into losses.

I love Vicious Shadows. The only reason I don't run it in my deck is the steep cmc

Also Eldrazi Monument gives your entire army indestructible at the cost of one token a turn, and there is an infinite draw/mill combo with Mind Over Matter and Temple Bell worth considering

It was mainly a budget thing. Some of them can be quite expensive ahem Wheel of Fortune but I'm actually looking to pick up a few of the cheaper ones this evening on my way past my lgs. Molten Psyche Time Reversal Reforge the Soul Windfall and hopefully Mindmoil. The others I'll probably try to pick up one by one. I hadn't actually seen Wheel of Fate before so thanks for that! goblinguiderevealpls

Np i run a Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck and i love draw decks and wheels, so i thought id mention some of the budget or moderate budget ones, i mean Timetwister is good too but thats one of the only cards still i need for wheels lol :( i used to run Mizzix of the Izmagnus and i have a nasty Keranos, God of Storms land destruction deck so im always a fan of izzet edh and im thinking of testing locust god in my nekusar list, probanly finding a place in keranos as well

I would not want to play against that nekusar deck haha. Locust god should easily fit in if you've already got all your draw effects going.

So I made a bunch of changes to this deck after some disappointing games last night and hurried visit to my LGS this evening. In my initial plays i found that not being able to cast The Locust God quickly enough is really devastating to the way the deck plays. I dont want to be discarding a ton of card just to be able to find land to play him where i dont get any value from the wheel. To remedy this i added a bunch of the cheaper (value wise) mana rocks. Obviously there are much better ones available but for the time being they are out of my reach. This problem will also be alleviated once i can upgrade the mana base, again a budget issue.

The next change was to add more wheel effects that will allow me to draw many cards at once, and remove some of the counter spells that were too situational to be of much use anyway and i was finding that i didnt have the mana left over to be able to cast them on my opponents turn anyway.

The last change was simply a straight switch of Street Spasm with Earthquake which is clearly better.

Noticed a couple of cards which i'd like to hear opinions on. Found a Staff of Nin which would allow me an extra draw at my upkeep but feel it has quite a high mana cost for it. And also Farsight Mask which seems like a great card against aggro decks. Any advice?

Torpor Orb stops most gy/etb creature decks flat but its a meta call, Blasphemous Act and Evacuation both are decent board wipes for the color, and blasact is 1 red most of the time, also Crawlspace and Curse of the Swine are good creature sweeps, also Wash Out

And yea not many lile playing against him but i only play him and keranos in competitive circles and i have a playgroup that attends multiple GP a year :/ they all have crazy pricy cards, i still need chains

alhammerets archive. plus mindmoil. every spell doubles your hand. just casting locust god with mindmoil and archive and your swarm will rage on. mainly suggesting alhammerets archive

Kindred Discovery naming Insect

uhhhhhhh the one weakness of kindred discovery with this deck is if you dont have a win con on the field you will kill yourself. kindred discovery isnt a may. so you draw yourself out, so hopefully you have a maniac out or have the mana for enchantment removal.

That's true, something like Commit would work though?

yeah just cast commit before drawing the last card otherwise you make an insect, and then the kindred discovery trigger will hit the stack even if its bounced.
