Love this build and concept.

If you’re open to feedback: Tortured Existence could add some potential value here. Perhaps even Cabal Initiate and/or Rancor , Muscle Burst/Diligent Farmhand for the life gain & beats.

Hunger of the Howlpack, Crashing Drawbridge,Elephant Guide, Snake Umbra would be good in this deck. I would take out Oakenform and Hardened-Scale Armor for Snake Umbra and Elephant Guide. Muscle Burst won't really do anything for the deck. I'd cut that for maybe Whispersilk Cloak. Lead the Stampedeand You Meet in a Tavern would also be great for the deck.

Have you thought about a bit more ramp in here? There is always Wild Growth since you are only using Green. I run Diligent Farmhand in my Rat Farm theme deck, but Muscle Burst is super off-theme for slimes, so maybe Wild Growth could work? Another (wilder and weirder) thought might be to slip in a few Myriad Landscape, since it's just another land at worst, and can turn into 2 forests if you don't have a good use for 3 mana, setting up a bigger X spell nex. Maybe a 2 of? Not sure which is more on theme for slime tribal, but any of the 3 would help you set up quicker.

I love this Ape tribal deck!

My only criticism is that you don't have enough human fodder for Kogla, the Titan Ape since he's one of your main forms of removal in your deck. You've only got Eternal Witness.

I was thinking maybe you could replace your Llanowar Tribe with Karametra's Acolyte or Citanul Hierophants ? Not only do they offer the potential for much more green mana per tap than the Tribe, they also are humans for Kogla to toss back.

Elfhame Druid could be replaced with Somberwald Sage which would actually net you 1 more mana for casting Kogla and 2 more mana all the time for other creatures.

You could also replace Sakura-Tribe Elder with Diligent Farmhand . While not as good as a one-off as the Elder it does fill the same chump block and sac for a land niche, it counts as an extra pump for the jank pump spell Muscle Burst which is mega flavor, and is a human for Kogla to toss. There's also Krosan Wayfarer which has the downside of only getting a land from hand rather than tutor or Primal Druid which has to die from the combat but at least lets you tutor.

I know you are probably using Llanowar Elves for an early play and ramp, but if you didn't need that extra (G) per tap you could replace it with Drumhunter which gives you needed card draw, a colorless mana per tap, and is a human for Kogla to toss. Some less good options but still ok since they're lower CMC than Drumhunter is Werebear , Honored Hierarch , Harvester Druid , Sylvok Explorer , or Humble Naturalist .

If you need a ramp creature to combo off with look no further than Hope Tender , Juniper Order Druid , Ley Druid , or Krosan Restorer to untap a land that produces big mana or Hidden Herbalists which would actually combo off of Kogla's tossback if you have something that could benefit from ETB's.

There's also Setessan Petitioner which would allow you repeated lifegain on ETB if you needed it.

I love the folksy flavour of this deck — I have the sitting version of Folk of An-Havva and an An-Havva Inn on hand, so tried this out, and actually won a few games! It was perilous, and it came down to setting up a wall of defenders, and slowly through attrition, Wanderlust saved the day.

As far as tweaking the deck, I was trying to think of similar ways to set up a solid defence, that would also work with the overall theme and fair-tale aesthetics — had me looking up cards by Rebecca Guay, and various artists instead of the usual methods.

I was saved a few times by the flashback on Moment's Peace , and it made me wish I always had a "fog" on hand to slow down my enemies. One idea was to run Constant Mists , prevent all combat damage that would be dealt this turn, and to counter the buyback effect of sacrificing a land, recruit the help of Groundskeeper . (Preferably with the older artwork by Alan Rabinowitz) He's a 1/1 green druid, which will take advantage of the Pendelhaven Elder ability and the artwork is painterly in execution. This way you could perpetually keep the attacking creatures stuck in Constant Mists loop while Wanderlust drives your enemy crazy.

Along a similar theme, Diligent Farmhand is another 1/1 druid, (Pendelhaven worthy) and fits in with the artwork aesthetics. For: 1Green, Sacrifice Diligent Farmhand: Search your library for a basic land card, put that card onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle. A pretty straightforward Rampant Growth sacrifice effect, but the second part of his text got me thinking, "If Diligent Farmhand is in a graveyard, effects from spells named Muscle Burst count it as a card named Muscle Burst." Muscle Burst ? Never seen it before, but it's a 2 cast instant that has the potential to outdo Giant Growth , Target creature gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is 3 plus the number of cards named Muscle Burst in all graveyards. I can imagine if the graveyard is cluttered with Diligent Farmhand , it could start compounding, and possibly replace Evolutionary Escalation if looking for room in the deck.

If there's advantage to having cards in the graveyard with Muscle Burst , and we're pulling lands out of the graveyard for a constant mist around the An-Havva folk, there might be room in the deck for a Life from the Loam , (preferably with the crow artwork), Return up to three target land cards from your graveyard to your hand. and it's got, Dredge 3 (If you would draw a card, you may mill three cards instead. If you do, return this card from your graveyard to your hand.) , which will pour that Muscle Burst into the dirt, and keep your mist fodder in hand.

I like the above idea of a potential Maddening Wind in addition to the Wanderlust — it synergizes with the Song of Serenity too, so you can put dangerous foes on ice.

Lastly, since you're running a land for flavour, something like Petrified Field could also help with the Constant Mists engine.

Anyhow, thanks for the flavourful deck idea, Kudos!

First, I wanna say that Savannah Lions was my absolute favorite card when I first started playing almost 30 years ago. At one point in time, it was actually worth money. In fact, I still have a Legacy, mono-white, Armageddon deck that runs 4 of them, and it is one of my best decks.

Seedbearer Scout

Creature - Elf Scout

When ~ dies, search your library for a basic land card for each ~ in your graveyard, put them onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library. Then, if there are 4 ~s in your graveyard, untap all lands you control.

1/1

I think that the whole needing multiples of it makes it over cost to be good in commander, and it isn't powerful enough to be good in Legacy or Vintage. But I could see it in Modern or Pioneer.

Next, make a pair of cards that have a similar synergy to Diligent Farmhand and Muscle Burst, but not related to the graveyard.

It wasn't a mechanic but in Odysey Block we had also cards like Muscle Burst which highlighted the idea of 'growing up'.

Web of Consciousness

Enchantment - Aura

Enchant Player

A deck may contain any number of cards with the name 'Web of Consciousness' in it.

When web of conscious enters the battlefield, each player draws a card for each ~ enchanting them.

enchanted player gains ": look at target players hand. Use this ability only on your upkeep, and only if target player is enchanted by ~"

Draftable because it either works like the old Muscle Burst style effect for drawing cards, and balances if your opponent has/is given one. ... shared knowledge.

how about a producing non-basic land you can have any number of copies of.
