Fire Shrine Keeper Discussion

Actually Fiender, I like your suggestion about Fire Shrine Keeper but after looking at it, it's not a post rotation card. I will have to change it back to Chandra's Embercat unless you have another suggestion, but it has to be post rotation. Thanks a lot for the suggestion though.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, Fiender. I will definitely be making a lot of changes to my deck after reading your comment. I will exchange Chandra's Embercat with Fire Shrine Keeper , remove Lavakin Brawler to add more of the other cards, replace Mask of Immolation with Icon of Ancestry , and move Chandra, Awakened Inferno and Leyline of Combustion to the sideboard. I won't be adding in Creeping Trailblazer because I really want to keep it straight mono-red, though I was contemplating putting that in when I first made the deck. All-in-all, you have been a huge help and I thank you very much.

I would strongly reccommend decreasing creatures/elementals in favor of more dedicated ramp like Khalni Heart Expedition , Harrow , Kodama's Reach , Sakura-Tribe Elder and Myriad Landscape . In my experience if you can cast Omnath and then focus on triggering landfall you'll assemble a board state quickly. In terms of card draw Elemental Bond , Life's Legacy and Greater Good are incredible with those 5/5 elementals. Because Omnath is such an expensive general playing Swiftfoot Boots would probably help.
I would recommend replacing high cmc creatures like Bloodpyre Elemental , Silverglade Elemental , and Hearthcage Giant to speed up the deck. I'd also look at replacing cards like Pilgrim's Eye , Crater Elemental , Fire Shrine Keeper , Cinder Elemental , and Catalyst Elemental as they don't really have payoff without lots of mana or omnath, in which case ramping into a 5/5 seems better

You could splash black for more removal and control resistance. Walk the Plank , Cast Down , Duress , Kitesail Freebooter , Fungal Infection , Theater of Horrors , and maybe Footlight Fiend , Dusk Legion Zealot , Vicious Conquistador , Drill Bit , Gruesome Fate , Blight Keeper , and Fire Shrine Keeper
P.S. Sorry for such an extensive comment, just wanted to show you a bunch of options. I am in no way suggesting ALL of these cards together.

Thanks man! I added March of the Drowned to the maybeboard for more recycling, which might work but I'd have to play test it. I also added a few different red one costs to the maybeboard: Daring Buccaneer, Fanatical Firebrand, and Fire Shrine Keeper. I'm more hesitant on those, just because I would have to change my mana base to support early game red. I'd love to hear more thoughts on this.

I like the deck, especially as a first one. If I were to recommend anything I'd probably try to make the deck more consistent by taking out a few of the weaker cards such as Fire Shrine Keeper and then complete the playsets of other cards like Deadeye Tormentor. From what I can tell, your landbase looks good. Hope I helped!

I really like Rigging Runner and Vance's Blasting Cannons seems like it could have a lot of potential as well. I'll probably be testing those out to to see how it turns out. Nest Robber seems like it would be good if you are on the play instead of the draw. It's kind of like a worse Earthshaker Khenra in my opinion. As far as the 1 drop with menace, Fire Shrine Keeper, it would definitely get in a few points of damage early if there is no removal from your opponent. I don't see it's other ability being too good though. 8 mana is just too much for this deck. By the time you get to 8 mana the game is over or close to over most of the time.
