This is a control deck meant to whittle the opponent out of resources and then take over with game ending threats and card advantage. The deck has an efficient removal suite in Engineered Explosives, Fatal Push, Terminate and Dreadbore; cards like Collective Brutality and Kolaghan's Command provide powerful and versatile effects in conjunction with hand disruption. Sedraxis Specter and Nicol Bolas, the Ravager   provide recurring card advantage by forcing discard, while also being powerful threats in their own right. In a similar vein, Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet and Olivia Voldaren are also powerful threats that also answer enemy threats and take over the board by themselves; one of the draws to playing this list over a more traditional control list, in fact, is its capacity to end the game very quickly when it turns the corner.
