"Huh? Don't you mean mana is power?"

Not so when you're fielding Viridian Joiner, who can turn a little power boost into some major ramp. Throw something cheap and simple like Rancor on him and suddenly he taps for three mana! Leverage that mana into something like Verdurous Gearhulk or Increasing Savagery and now he can tap for even more mana - it's a snowball effect that's going to quickly get out of hand.

Marwyn, the Nurturer, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds and newcomer Tanuki Transplanter are all alternative ways to turn power into mana. You should be able to turn your mana into a massive win condition like Ghalta, Primal Hunger or Myojin of Towering Might, but if you'd rather go the direct route, Crater's Claws can simply blow your opponent's head off. Since your pumped up Joiner will probably tick the Ferocious requirement, too, he's tacking on even more damage to your direct damage spell. Now that's what I call claws for alarm!
