After failing to fire last week we had 8 ppl show tonight for a 3-round tournament. I went 1-2.
Round One 2-1 W vs Grixis Delver
These were pretty close games
G1 L He had removal/counters for all my threats and beat down with Tasigur, the Golden Fang.
G2 W I eked out a close win with threat after threat till he ran out of answers.
G3 W I started on a terrible mull to 5 with Surgical Extraction, Relic of Progenitus and 3x Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle in my opening hand, but he was stuck on lands and I made it across the finish line. It was a weird game.

Round Two 0-2 L vs Bant Spirits
I played as well as I could but didn't draw any of my board removal spells.
G1: I had Scapeshift with 7 mana, but he had double Mausoleum Wanderer with a Drogskol Captain and Supreme Phantom so I couldn't pay thru both of them. Bolted the Captain and forced him to sac both his Wanderers but couldn't follow up with a threat and he won.
G2: I cast Scapeshift with enough mana to pay around his Mausoleum Wanderer but he countered with Unified Will and hit me down to 2. Next turn I resolved Primeval Titan and Valakutted two of his spirits, leaving just 2 Noble Hierarch on his side. He untapped, cast Deputy of Detention removing my Primeval Titan and swung a Hierarch with 2 exalted triggers for exactly lethal.

Round 3 0-2 vs MonoRed Phoenix
G1 and G2 were both pretty much the same. She was too fast and outraced me.
