Sideboard

Maybeboard

My take on a grixis control list for the new pioneer meta. Grixis is sadly not in the same position that azorious is, so it needs to take a more pro-active approach. This is why there are so many modalcards in both main and side board.

Bonecrusher Giant is a power-house and is a key piece of this deck. He functions as removal for small creatures while also giving me a powerful on curve beat stick in his 4/3 body (that is a quick clock by himself)

Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet is a very strong threat that will win the game if left unchecked. He helps stabilise when youre low on life also with him having lifegain and with all of the spot removal can happily produce a small zombie herd. (Not to mention the exile ability permanently dealing with the new titans and delirium's emmy)

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy   does it all. He fills the yard, acts as an early blocker and once flipped can recur all of the best cards in the deck.

Glint-Sleeve Siphoner may look like an odd pick, it acts as a pseudo-bob ( Dark Confidant ) effect that is pioneer legal and with it having menace can also allow for some early damage (it also curves nicely behind bonecrusher and narset)

Both Narset and Nicol bolas are awesome cards which don't really need an explanation.

Sideboard cards:

Pharika's Libation is in testing currently, as it's one of the few enchantment hate cards for grixis in pioneer. Another one I need to test is Cyclonic Rift , but theyre very expensive due to EDH.

Unmoored Ego is in there for obvious reasons. Playing against hardened scales? Theres an easy way to trip your opponent up big time and see their hand, all for 3 mana. (Which is recurrable with a royal scion/ arcanist synergy)

Thanks for reading, cant wait to listen to your advice :)
