Birth of Bant standard control

Standard GWU (Bant)

Maybeboard

A rough build of a bant list I want to keep track of with Born of the Gods giving some solid options for the deck.

Please play test with it before bashing it for not having cards you may typically see in a brew like this. Here is the breakdown:

Manabase:

Seems pretty obvious. 4 of each needed shock, some basics so that there is wiggle room for not needing to have some things enter tapped, temples for scry and early drops.

Creatures:

Voice of Resurgence: Solid 2 drop. Good against both control and aggro. As tokens have a theme in this deck, the token from voice has the potential to become rather large.

Sylvan Caryatid: ramp for t2, solid blocker, typically tough to get off of the board.

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice: solid for some life gain that may be relevant towards the late game, the main boarding of it can hinder some aggro decks if the board is maintained properly early game. The populate is added bonus for the token sub theme. Again, not a bad blocker, it acts as a time-buyer, and a secondary win con depending on token prevalence on the board.

Prime Speaker Zegana: the Sphinx's Revelation of the deck. While sphinx's is good, I would rather (for this deck) get the draw and a body on the board rather than draw and gain three life for the 6 mana. It has been hit or miss in some play tests where I only have 1/1 tokens on the board but is great with the 5/5 warm tokens.

Armada Wurm : 2 for 1 bomb. Does it do something immediately, no. But it does set up a better board presence and offers a populating target as well as 10 trampling power.

Spells

Advent of the Wurm : Gets a token out to block, populate, act as a target for prime speaker, pretty versatile deepening on your needs.

Azorius Charm Simic Charm Selesnya Charm: again, versatility for the meta thats arising. Mainly, the uses would be draw, hexproof, and exile. But lucky us! If things change from that play line, we are ready!

Dissolve : what is control without counters?

Plasm Capture: everyones guilty pleasure. Plus I like doing things with your mana. it can contribute to a better board state if need be but as a 1 of for now because its not something that makes or breaks the deck.

Supreme Verdict: board wipes are the meat of most control decks. It may screw me a bit but I feel that the token production may be able to keep me with a decent board after a wipe. (may include Rootborn Defenses if this doesn't work as nicely as planned)

Elspeth, Sun's Champion: tokens, and a wipe of anything that may threaten me. Just need to play around my 5/5s but chances are I won't need a wipe if they are on board.

Kiora, the Crashing Wave : I just like kiora. I feel like she has a place in the deck. I want to have 2, however, cutting cards is never easy.
