Thraximundar + Rooftop Storm is just fucked up lol. Song of the Dryads takes care of that, Thraximundar is a forest and cant be returned to the command zone and cant be sacked either. Perfect way to deal with that. #1 reason to like Song of the Dryads.

As a combo player, I just try to win first. Also, out of curiosity, why no Sol Ring?

Knight of the Reliquary is a great card works great. I would run this card if i had a shit load Of sac search lands like Evolving Wilds. That card goes great with Titania, Protector of Argoth.

Hey I really like the list! Have you though about adding a few mana dorks?I know the commander is one but you could have her out turn two and possibly have her one of your more mana heavy cards faster. In a four person game she could add 4 mana, plus the other mana dork Elvish Mystic for example, and your land for turn you could have 8 mana turn 3. once again awesome list :D

to many board wipes happen in edh that it's not good to have creatures to make mana. i see a good reason for it in certain decks like tribal or tap tap untap stuff and there are some really good budget mana dorks in green like Krosan Restorer but with my commander i always have a great mana dork by turn three every game and i can always bring her back it's never really been a problem for me. there has been occasions when someone with a tim deck keeps deathtouch pinging her and or steals her from me or pithing needles her and what not. when that happens then yes i do consider it. but it's so easy to board wipe someone with all the mana dorks and his big creature he cast cause of all his dorks helped him put it out, then after he put all his cards on the table he has nothing in his hand because four of them where mana dorks. the deck performs very well when she gets left alone. in most cases she is left alone until i start untapping her. good question

I've found that diversifying across mana dorks, artifact mana and land tutor spells yields the best results. 2/3 mana dorks is the most I would run but a turn one Birds of Paradise is amazing.

i agree with land tutors heavily. Also you can't be any more correct about that statement, you should have all 4 corners of mana ramp covered. via dorks, artifacts, land tutors, enchantments ext you name it. the reason being is its harder for someone to get all your mana ramp if its diverse. so here it is in this deck: land tutor Boundless Realms, dork Selvala, Explorer Returned, enchantment Mirari's Wake, land tutor Karametra, God of Harvests land generator Terrain Generator more land stuff Scorched Ruins, and Myriad Landscape. i use to run Chromatic Lantern for mana ramp and mana fix but switch it out for Boundless Realms. in this deck, not having other means of mana ramp, other then what's already in it, has worked great thus far. i might add Lotus Vale now that this has been brought to my attention again. it may deserve another look... is there anything else you may suggest? (keep it budget)

I like Birds of Paradise. They're a solid one drop. I also think you should be running Sol Ring. Every deck should be. Other ramp cards that are good are Cultivate, Kodama's Reach and if you can afford it, Mana Reflection.
Also, you need to be running Alhammarret's Archive. NEED NEED NEED. :P

@enpc, what should i cut for the Sol Ring, Cultivate, and Alhammarret's Archive?

One land, Fog or Holy Day and something else I'm not sure of yet. Most likely Emmara Tandris. Avacyn, Angel of Hope or bust :P

Well i really like Fog and Holy Day, but maybe i can cut one of them. I was thinking one land and Emmara Tandris as well. But i was also thinking of adding Akroma's Memorial. When i cast a Storm Herd for the win i need to swing that turn. @Cicjose, i can fit that in somewhere im sure. Im gonna make some changes soon

Since you have the highest rated Selvala deck on this site, I thought I'd share with you my alter. :) It's A=2243 if you like it.

griffstick To make it, I started by typing out the card on Magic Set Editor. I didn't put the image in. Instead, I just exported the card image without a picture. Then I put that into photoshop. From there, I put in the picture of the dwarf. I cut out the nameplate and rules text area. Then I put the dwarf image behind those, gave it a black background, then cut the section of his head that was behind the nameplate and moved it to a layer in front of the card's nameplate. Finally I dropped the spout and beer liquid png files in for the finishing touch.
If you type [Selvala, Explorer Returned *A=2243*] with double brackets instead of single brackets, you'll get what I linked above.

I really like concept of this deck, but i was thinking could Tolsimir Wolfblood or Wilt-Leaf Liege find a place in here? Since this deck does generate alot of tokens.

i had Tolsimir Wolfblood in it when i first built it. both the high converted mana cost and only producing one token a turn was bad. for the same cmc you could run some other really good spells. just not good enough plus its a legendary token, that sucks. Wilt-Leaf Liege isnt exactly a budget card nor is it a better card then some of the other creature buff cards. the reason being is most of the tokens are one color

I see some possible improvements but many of them are pricy. What's your upper limit on cards to add to this?

If i had a combo in my deck such as the one you mentioned id probally win a hell of alot more. I dont like to sit and watch other people take the turn forever, so i dont want to be that guy either. So ive sideboarded Umbral Mantle for those rare type games. Fauna Shaman isnt to bad on price, but doesnt fit the budget theme. Its a card id buy for sure, its a great card, just not budget. Survival of the Fittest is the best tutor in green. Thats why its 45 bucks, fantastic card.
Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre type cards are great in every deck, but its big bucks for me. As for Spore Frog i dont want the opponents to know i have a fog so its kind of a silly card. Song of the Dryads is good ans so is Beast Within but i like Song of the Dryads more cause in edh a mid to late game adding 1 mana does almost nothing, i also like that if i use it on any commander it does not go back to the command zone because its now a colorless forest, now he or she has to waste a spell to get his or her commander back. Beast Within on the other hand has killed me early games before, thats not good. now back to the fact, your "toying around" with her, and have come of with that. Thats awesome i cant wait to see what it looks like finished. When your done building it please share it with me so i can check it out.May 15, 2015 3:36 a.m. Edited.
