SaberTech on Naya tricks

Yeah, I was a bit confused about what you were asking for because spells like Guided Strike that are used to influence combat situations are what are typically called "combat tricks". I didn't clue in that you might have meant meant creatures with combat related triggered abilities until after I had already posted.

In naya colours, some creatures with notable combat related abilities include:

(3 or less mana) - Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, Arabella, Abandoned Doll, Jacked Rabbit, Kellan, Daring Traveler, Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd, Syr Faren, the Hengehammer, Tilonalli's Summoner, Arni Metalbrow, Breeches, Eager Pillager, Combat Celebrant, Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Brimaz, King of Oreskos, Laelia, the Blade Reforged, Mirri, Weatherlight Duelistfoil, Ogre Battlecaster, Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury, Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon.

(Over 3 mana) Odric, Lunarch Marshal, Odric, Master Tactician, Hero of Bladehold, Ilharg, the Raze-Boar, Kogla, the Titan Ape, Aurelia, the Warleader.

Honestly, there are a ton of useful options that I didn't list. It all depends on what sort of deck you want to build.

My first reaction here was the Modern Horizons sets. They were made to shake of the format, and they did that a little too well. Ocelot Pride, Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury, Glaring Fleshraker, and Psychic Frog are some of the newest examples, and they pretty much immediately jumped to to the top of a bunch of different power formats. All of the 60-card eternal formats have key cards that got their first print with the last two years, and bans are happening more often than ever.

The bar is definitely being pushed. I just wish supplemental sets wouldn't push it quite so hard. Orcish Bowmasters and The One Ring also need a mention here.

Initial thoughts after first RCQ (see above):

Potential Changes:

  1. -1 Winternight Stories & +1 Kiora, the Rising Tide
  2. Find room for 2x Mystical Dispute's in the Sideboard

OxygenDestroyer65 on Phlage Valkyrie's Call Infinite Combo

Does Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury go infinite with Valkyrie's Call? It seems fairly obvious but I haven't seen this combo listed anywhere and I wasn't sure if I was missing something.

Balaam__ watching you develop that talent/skill/passion for using the hyperlinks to convey some funny moments is really meaningful to me knowing just how recently you asked for assistance with it. This list isn't awful.. but it feels very mid-range/tempo. I would recommend the Phlage package that has recently become popular in modern. I think Boros Good Boys is also a thing, but this isn't.. bad? It just seems telegraphed and a bit slow for the current meta. Not like you don't have bodies for blocking, or spells for chunking.. I think I wouldn't change what I see at all, actually. Besides Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury- there's room for things like Boros Charmfoil or even Make Your Mark, and this is less to say from a perspective of criticism of your deck, and more just me mentioning potential cards.

There's also some old Dissension block card that I can't bring to mind or find by an easy search, but it's white (iirc) and has some sort of clause if you've paid red this turn, it may or may not be useful or relevant but I can't quite think of the name right now.

kamarupa, Balaam__ so i guess "forking" just made it into my reused vocabulary now, huh? Starting to feel like I understand your interactions a bit better now.

Aeonaxis, Titan of Time's Folly

Legendary Creature - Elder Giant

When ~ enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless it escaped.

Whenever ~ enters the battlefield or or becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, target opponent chooses untap, combat, or main phase. That player skips each instance of that step or phase until your next turn.

Escape: , Exile five other cards from your graveyard. (You may cast this card from your graveyard for its escape cost)

6/6

"A minute is second to none — save eternity everlasting."

I hope that I incorporated the Ward cost fairly, while keeping it inline with the likes of Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger, Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath and Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury.

Next challenge is to make another Elder Giant inline with the above of another color pair!
