alright so here goes, so the cards to the left can be swapped with the ones to the right, it has the same or very similair effect but for a reduced mana cost etc.
Bloodtallow Candle -> Dismember
Whispers of Emrakul -> Hymn to Tourach
Painful Lesson -> Night's Whisper (there is also: Sign in Blood
Lethal Sting -> Victim of Night (there is also Go for the Throat)
Dutiful Return -> Ghoulcaller's Chant ? (its cheaper and will almost always be for a zombie? a lot cheeper but its your call.)
Abyssal Specter -> Hypnotic Specter
the next ones are cards i think you should strip, i will list them and then explain why:
Ruin Rat : you already have a few of these, and this isnt even a zombie. there are just better cards out there that arent expensive at all, (i'll give some suggestions further down the post)
Shambling Attendants : Just strictly bad, you dont want to play a 3/5 dude for 8 mana ever.
Cruel Feeding : its just pretty bad, the strive cost is very expensive just to +1/0 lifelink. dont use this unless you had something specific in mind that i didnt catch up on reading the list.
Duress and Divest : these never really do much, yes you get to pick away 1 card and see 1 hand but you will almost never hit anything especially good, only run this if you are planning to do a lot of 1v1 EDH.

I run a Hapatra deck too but i dont have many suggestions because most of the cards i would name are already here. Suggestions: I know that Lethal Sting is a sorcery but its like a Murder that gives you a deathtouch snake so... I really like Torment of Venom in my deck because of the leech plus the snake plus the chance of killing a creature. Decimator Beetle is very good with cards like Exemplar of Strength. Soulstinger isn't bad because they wont really try hard to block/kill it.

I like the BG -1/-1 counters theme!But to make it better, 4 of the previously channeler suggestion is necessary. As is 4 Hapatra, the best thing since slied bread for this deck. The other big payoffs are 4 of Nest of Scarabs and 4 Obelisk Spider. Next, you will need enablers - 4 of the crocodile, ammit eternal, beetle and 4 Exemplar of Strength. The other 8 flex slots can be some removal in the form of Banewhip Punisher, Lethal Sting or some recursion for cards like Gravedigger or some discard like Lay Bare the Heart.

DemonDragonJ, you must be disappointed every set then - Contract Killing, Lethal Sting, Torment of Venom, Vanquish the Weak, Tidy Conclusion, Certain Death, Murderous Compulsion are all worse cards than the ones you listed, in just the last year. It is almost as if Wizards prints removal like that based on the needs of the Limited environment in the set.

I miss a lot of good cards in these deck: Ammit Eternal, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Lethal Sting, for red splash cards like Blur of Blades, The Scorpion God or Consuming Fervor...

I see why this list makes sense after trying a few cards mentioned. I'm playing mtgo so it was great to test this out with my other cards. But I did think the god was not so good MB. I could test more.
I'm going to see if I like Lethal Sting later. I've been trying Banewhip Punisher with Grind-Dust to support. I also have to MB Fatal Push. No it's not theme but just great card to supplement already cool board state.

Cool take on -1/-1 counters! I was searching for ideas after struggling to find something to help close games out with this type. Soulstinger - is this for fun or something worth trying? I'm wondering what I need on the 4CC curve.
I cringed when I thought about Lethal Sting. How is it? Sorcery is not my fav. :)
I wasn't really looking at the black God. Crazy nice addition imo.
Ifnir Deadlands are a must for this deck. Best land I can think of for this archetype.
