"Sylvan, Courser, Reaper, Yours // Chromanticore, Really? Yep."

Chromanticore, in a Jund shell.

I'm searching for a home for my favorite BNG creature, and I think that RBG may be that place.

After playtesting the ChroBANTicore, I realized that I need more removal and win conditions. Vraska the Unseen provides both of those things, and seems better than Jace, Architect of Thought in a deck like this. Access to black mana means every good removal spell in the format, as well as card advantage in the form of Underworld Connections , which is really all Jace, Architect of Thought was doing anyway.

I really, really love Reaper of the Wilds . I think the card is a sleeper and is very, very durable in a format such as this. Her 5 toughness beats all burn, and all of her abilities seem really good. Casting Bile Blight on a battlefield full of Elspeth Soldiers or Master of Waves Elementals means scrying for days! She also avoids both Ultimate Price and Doom Blade. Bestowing a Chromanticore onto Reaper of the Wilds also seems like GG, especially with hexproof mana up. Also, that's just the absolute dream: a flying, first striking, lifelinking, trampling, vigilant, deathtouching, hexproof 5-color double creature?! Pinch me.

Abrupt Decay hits Detention Sphere, Spear of Heliod as well as Underworld Connections. It also hits so many relevant creatures without limitations early-game while we're ramping with Sylvan Caryatid and generating Courser of Kruphix advantage. Our other value spells lie in black staples such as Hero's Downfal and Doom Blade, as well as Devour Flesh and Ultimate Price. Rakdos's Return is devastating and severely overlooked in the meta, and fits the bill perfectly due to how much mana we can generate with this deck.

I also want to test out Vraska the Unseen. I think she's simply good, and provides a very quick clock when cast. She can also provide an extra removal spell for any big dudes that our opponent casts. More than anything, I want to see if she can hold her weight in the new standard format, so I'll test with her.

Our value creatures take the form of Polukranos, World Eater and a lone Blood Baron of Vizkopa. The sideboard features Mistcutter Hydra against blue and Witchstalker against black. Underworld Cerberus is another card that is just fantastically overlooked and can really end games by itself. It's also an insane bestow target that demands attention.

Domri Rade generates card advantage, especially when paired with Courser of Kruphix; seriously, this interaction is insane and must be played to believe. Scry also helps Domri Rade draws, and Underworld Connections can just downright make the entire sequencing unfair. These three set up together are just a card advantage machine, churning out 2-3 each turn.

Give the deck a playtest: it's insanely fun, and even more brutal. Suggestions are very appreciated. I'm determined to make Chromanticore work, and I am open to all possibilities!
