Still trying to get rid of cards with almost none play value usually sitting in my hand. Recently added in Devout Invocation, Primeval Bounty and Scavenging Ooze.

Also marked the foils to keep myself up to date what cards I still need to fully foil this one.

Sol Ring , Coalition Relic , Hellkite Charger with Bear Umbra is pretty cool, Doubling Season and Spawning Pit go excellent with your general... idk, Savage Beating ?

Oops, forgot to list that Doubling Season . It is actually in my deck already. Savage Beating seems to be one nice-working card in this type of deck. :) Thanks for the tips.

I would not use the "tapped" lands, as this deck wants to win quick! I am much a fan of "Duals", "M10's", Fetchland, "any color" lands like City of Brass and Forbidden Orchard etc, filter land and beyond that a good split of basics... Coalition Relic , all three signets and Darksteel Ingot all have a place in this deck too, I believe. Try it, let me know how it works!

I'm working on it. Signets seem to be absolutely in. This deck is almost ready then. But is there someone in the creatures who is a weak link? I think Omnath doesn't fit in a deck like this which doesn't produce tons of green mana without putting it to use in the same turn. But is there anyone else? I'm also worried about this being too green-centered deck. There must be some great creatures in colors of monoR and monoW to put in a deck like this.. I'm just too familiar with green so I have to set my sight even further.

I'm still also worried about the amount balance of BASIC lands in this deck.

Check out my Uril EDH Beasts It's the same colors, so you might find some stuff you like.

Braid of Fire is amazing.

Brooding Saurian helps with all the pesky 'take control' effects that seem to pop up.

I'm still 2 or 3 cards away from my goal but can't decide which ones are great adds to a token deck like this. I have some cards now in the maybeboard listed and I'm open to make changes to my main deck from there too.

One opinion was that Woolly Thoctar doesn't fit to the deck because it doesn't have any abilities.. so who's gonna be the substitute?

@ shaistyone : I checked your decklist but didn't really get good adds because an aura deck works a little bit more aura-concentrated than a token deck. :) Thanks for the help tho. There was some cards that I might add to the sideboard at least.

Dude, a lot of your creatures are unnecessary. If you ramp your general out quick with things like Coalition Relic , Sol Ring and Mana Vault generate some tokens with tech like Aura Mutation and Artifact Mutation your general beats face FAST... I've seen Rith cast turn 3 and dead me by turn 5... it's that sick!

... and where did ALL the artifacts go?..

September 7, 2010 5:15 p.m.

SLD says... #10

Dude, can you just name what creatures of those are unnecessary in your opinion?

And about the lack of artifacts.. I've checked the local meta and there's quite aggressive plays against mana-generating artifacts. They get broke quite often and doesn't stay long to make any further impact. I still know what your point is in playing artifacts like Sol Ring and Mana Vault. I'm just keeping my eyes on the metagame. Turn 3 Rith would be one sick play if it just gets the job done but.. There's that but-factor about that.

I playtest this deck first against some players and then judge the needs of good artifacts. AND let's check the Scars first..!

It's been a while and this deck is now up to date!

It's such a shame card:Painter's Servant is banned in EDH...

To the "tapped lands" comment, don't be afraid to use them. I have many ETB-tapped lands in my sliver deck (5 colors), and I can usually play my general on turn 5 or 6 because of it. Having cards like Vivid Meadow , Vivid Crag , and Vivid Grove can help immensely, even if they stall for a turn.

Oh, and consider Beastmaster Ascension for all those tokens.

July 17, 2011 9:10 a.m.

SLD says... #13

That really is a shame. There would be many great cards to use when it comes to the color-factor.. And even Natural Order would be more flexible. But Servant is banned for a reason and I accept that.

And let's say.. I like some of the ETB-tapped lands but haven't really utilized them right. I usually run to a situation (with my other decks) where I happen to have too many of these ETB-tapped's in my hand and the early game fails badly because of that. Maybe I should consider those Vivid lands now when they're all available in my collection. Maybe I try them then. Maybe. :)

Now when I pushed this deck towards more token-heavy gameplay, I want to know first what kind of amounts I'm able to generate. After that I want to make decision about Beastmaster Ascension which I'm also considering. This far the tokens have been too secondary option for win-condition and my main creatures have shined better. Hoping to make an impact with tokens too.

Thanks for the great comment. Good to breathe life to this deck too.

Intangible Virtue ? +1/+1 and vigilance for your tokens seems pretty good.

Doubling Season + Planeswalkers = Ultimate abilities on the turn they're cast.

tl;dr - Needs moar PWs.

Here's my take on it. Rith EDH - Aggro Swarm

Mine is much more about the swarm aggro, but there might be some decent cards in there for you.

SLD says... #17

zandl, I'm already using that as a tactic. There's not too many good PW's tho. The ones who would fit my list are Garruk, Primal Hunter and Ajani, Caller of the Pride . They would actually do some nasty things with Doubling Season and Parallel Lives on the field. Maybe I should consider these two cuties.

And what comes to other PW candidates.. other Ajani variations are too lame imo. Goldmane can create 1-4 token with his ultimate, BUT they don't have any kind of evasion. Just a vanilla token with big powers. Easily destroyed or something. I used to play Vengeant in my deck, but his ultimate is too specific.. I mostly play multiplayer EDH.

And oh, welcome back to my comments shaistyone, long time no hear. ;) Your deck is somewhat from so different strategy that I can't really tell what kind of cards would fit in my pile. There are so many cards that used to be in this deck. :)

Elspeth Tirel would be outstanding with Doubling Season , as would Gideon Jura and Chandra Nalaar .

August 25, 2012 9:45 p.m.

SLD says... #19

Chandra Nalaar s problem is that she hits only one person with her ultimate.. only good thing is that she herself survives the use with 4 loyalty. Otherwise, she's "only" a 5 mana 12 damage one-shot. I don't actually agree with you about Gideon Jura .. In EDH, planeswalkers usually get targeted quite fast so you get to use them once, maybe rarely twice. Gideon doesn't do anything with 12 loyalty counters. Ok, he can take more hits when all the creatures attack, but when everything's big in EDH, he would be just a little guy who would use this combat trick anyway..

.. and what comes to Tirel, I would need an exact board presence going for her to be useful.

And of course you obviously know this, Doubling Season doubles only the amount of loyalty when PW comes into play, not any of those when you use an ability. That's why I don't find those three so useful.

Gideon Jura 's -2 can be amazing in EDH, especially if you're playing against any aggressive Commander-damage decks. And having him come in with 12 means that he sticks around for awhile.

Also, Chandra Nalaar has a -X, you know...

But the real star with Doubling Season is Elspeth 2.0. Elspeth Tirel gains you a lot of life if your deck makes as many tokens as you say it can. She can pump out 6 tokens with Doubling Season or be a Planar Cleansing minus your tokens if you need it. At least when I play EDH, there are more than a few times I wish I had a Planar Cleansing in hand.

SLD says... #21

I really hope that you still have your point of view out of 1vs1 EDH.. Because in multiplayer EDH, planeswalkers aren't safe at all. I have played a 'walker with "double counters" a few times.. just to notice that I find him/her from my graveyard before even trying to re-use something. Usually that's why I just use the ultimate and let it go.

And still I'm asking, what you exactly do with Chandra Nalaars -X ability if there's multiple of players with multiple of potentially targeted creatures on the table AND you get to target ONE CREATURE WITH IT?.. If I could just use the mana otherwise and destroy more than one. I don't understand your logic here. :/ Sorry.

.. Ok, this is when Elspeth Tirel comes into action.. but I still keep on saying that her ability is too specific. If I decide to take some tokens out of her even when she is with double counters, that would be a death sentence to Elspeth Tirel herself after all. On our EDH games, I have rarely seen planeswalker survive more than one turn after it entered the field. Almost never. Trust me when I say this.

I just wonder what kind of power level is your EDH-group if a 'walker survives that long? I really wonder.

PS. What comes to my mind with "aggressive Commander-damage decks" is for example Rafiq of the Many .. but hey.. one of the first things they enchant/equip to this kind of creature is something which gives hexproof. So that's a no-no to Nalaar and Jura for sure.

I have a rith deck too, Saproling Madness , and one of my favorite cards is Nacatl War-Pride . She usually acts like a taunting elf for me, but better because when I attack with doubling season or parallel lives out (god forbid both), I get two attacking 3/3's for every creature you control. This usually involves people blocking to kill the original warpride but dying in the end because they just ate an army which came from nowhere. Aggravated Assault is also good in general, but broken as heck with the warpride because each token is a COPY of the original, so when I attack again each token puts out more attacking tokens. Deck look sweet though! Good luck fine tuning, I know I never stop looking for improvements to mine.

What are your thoughts on a couple of big more recent fatties like Giant Adephage and Utvara Hellkite ? They're especially good since you have a few haste enablers to "guarantee" they'll get to swing once.

I'd probably be looking at Norn's Annex and Signal the Clans as possible things to cut to make room, but that's just me. I'm having a hard time looking at this deck and making critiques +1.
