aloud as in allowed? Or as in "a loud" = noisy? Well, both possibly but I think you mean the first one.

Maybe add at least couple cheap creatures to work as protection? Something like Pharika's Chosen or Ruthless Ripper?

I would suggest Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx but it is kind of unnecessary if you don't have smaller permanents too...

Oops very big mistake!! :P But do you think this might work? Or is it more like a 'nah'?

About those 1 drop creatures, maybe it's a good idea! I Also like the idea of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx

I kind of like it but I think it will be a hit or miss type of deck. Either you lose early on or you utterly destroy the opponent.

Quicksilver Amulet could help a lot too. Reanimate and Life/Death too.

Personally I don't like Magus of the Coffers. If you can already play him, you can play almost all others too.

Thanks Luutamo these cards would help me a lot, they're maybe better than Exhume because my opponent can't get a creature.

I think the foundation is solid, and it looks pretty damn fun.

Get ready cuz this is what I would do if I were playing this deck:

If you're going to devotion ramp with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, I'd recommend Phyrexian Obliterator. He's probably the most retarded black card ever.. a 5/5 for 4b AND they have to sac permanents when it takes damage?! lol

-4 Crypt Ghast +4 Phyrexian Obliterator

-2 Visara the Dreadful +2 Avatar of Woe (they do the same thing, one will cost way less, and avatar isn't legendary)

Consider -2 Quicksilver Amulet and +2 Extraplanar Lens with -2 Lake of the Dead and +2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth because the amulet will cost you 4 to cast and 4 to activate. The lens doesn't need to tap to activate.. all your swamps will tap for double. 4 swamps on the board and you can cast your highest CMC creature no problem. It might seem just a little slower, but the amulet is specific to creatures, so the lens might be a little more long term and flexible.

-4 Pharika's Chosen +4 Putrid Imp because you want to have the option to drop high CMC from your hand, protect against early flying, and cast Avatar sooner.

-2 Ob Nixilis, the Fallen +2 Buried Alive

-2 Bubbling Muck +2 Reanimate - the life will come back to you once you play Griselbrand, and Bubbling Muck is symmetrical

And I swear i'm not stalking your decks, I was just coasting the deck help forum. lol

Thanks for helping me!

I was thinking about Phyrexian Obliterator before, but it's quite expensive. For a playset I'd pay 80 (yea, I live in EU ;-)) though i'm still considering to buy it.

About the Visara the Dreadful I thought it would be better because of the flying part. But I mainly going to use it for the destroying part. So Avatar of Woe is better.

I get the part of Extraplanar Lens as I see it's better than the Quicksilver Amulet. But why should you swap 2 Lake of the Dead for 2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth I don't really understand.

About the Putrid Imp if I'll use it, shouldn't it be better than if I get rid of the Entomb? Because I'll put a lot of creatures in my graveyard. So every creature would be easy to cast.

Turn1: Swamp, Dark Ritual, Putrid Imp -> discard, Reanimate and Massacre Wurm

Then I have to get that hand at first. But it's possible, or am I wrong?

And ClutchWorks, you may stalk me. You have good ideas :-D

lol thanks!

Your turn one play is definitely correct! Having a Massacre Wurm, Avatar of Woe, or Griselbrand on turn one would probably make me quit. You don't necessarily need the Putrid Imp because you could have the same result with a Swamp+Entomb+Reanimate on turn one too. The imp just gives you more options in case you decide not to mulligan down to 3 every game to get the perfect hand lol.

I recommended Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth because it turns your nonbasic lands into swamps as well, so if you exile a basic swamp with the Extraplanar Lens even starting the game with a non basic land won't slow down the effect. Either way Lake of the Dead requires too much sacrifice, and it's better suited for a less speed sensitive format like Commander in my opinion.

I have a friend who built a very similar dragon deck. Turn 1 he'll start with a Swamp to Putrid Imp and discard either Utvara Hellkite or Bladewing the Risen, then in turn 2 He'll discard whichever dragon he didn't get to in turn 1 and cast Reanimate on bladewing to have 3 dragons on turn 2. If he doesn't start with a Putrid Imp then he'll mulligan to get one of those or an Entomb and play the same way. The only problem with the deck is it's a one trick pony, so if he doesn't pull of his combo early then it's beatable - especially in multiplayer. That's one of the reasons why I recommended Phyrexian Obliterator or maybe even some Royal Assassins and Hero's Downfalls. They help you sustain through a longer game in case your win strat doesn't combo off.. Obliterators are expensive, and I only own 1 myself.. but I plan on buying one at a time as I see them priced fair online. If i saw 4 Obliterators on turn 4/5 then i'd quit. lol

If you have a chance, try to playtest Liliana Vess over Liliana of the Dark Realms to see if you'd rather tutor your combo cards or tutor your swamps.

Good luck!

I've made some proxies and playtested it against my brother's (jenske1999) deck (Green deck ramp). I noticed that Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is very important, because i've needed one more mana, but with Cabal Coffers I didn't get that mana. But on the other hand, the Lake of the Dead was powerfull. So I'm not sure what to do now.

He played his Emrakul, the Aeons Torn (he didn't cast so he didn't get his next turn) and I had my Avatar of Woe. But since Emrakul, the Aeons Torn said 'protection from colored spells' is the ability of Avatar of Woe a colored spell?

But overall I was pretty happy with the result of the deck. Maybe with a few changes this deck would be great!!

I've played Liliana of the Dark Realms and I personally think she better than Liliana Vess. And as I mentioned before, I'd had some trouble with my Swamps, so Liliana of the Dark Realms was pretty good now.

Thanks for every help! ;-)

Yea np dude, glad it's coming along.

If the Lake of the Dead works, then you should keep it.. maybe swap out some Cabal Coffers instead since it didnt' work.

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn has protection from colored spells, and not abilities of colored permanents. This means Avatar of Woe may be a black creature, but the tapping ability isn't considered a black spell - yea avatar can kick emrakul's ass. I'm pretty sure anyway.

I love reanimator decks. I looked into your list and I don't know if it's legacy legal, Demonic Tutor and Living Death, those two would be awsome in your deck.

This deck is legacy legal, if T/O is right. Thanks for the tips! Im only not sure about Demonic Tutor

luisserpa says... #12

Sorry, I didn't want to say that, what I meant was that I don't know if the cards that I suggested are legacy legal, sorry. I think it can be good to you, it gives more control about that cards that you draw. Is a card that I like to play with, however from a long time now, it's too expensive for me, but have helped me a lot.

bro..... Quicksilver Amulet and Sol Ring are much more efficient at these kinds of things :P i run em in my main Demon deck to lethal effect with large cost demons like Griselbrand, Lord of the Void, Demon of Death's Gate, etc. Plus, a turn 1 Dark Ritual + Sol Ring allows you to get Liliana of the Dark Realms or a Desecration Demon, or some other 4 drop out on turn 1, at no life cost to you. :)

HungryWampa says... #16

well, Sol Ring isnt legal in Legacy. just saw that by your title. However, if you ever go casual with it, i highly recommend that route

For the moment i'm keeping it as legacy. Maybe in the future when I found out that this doesn't work, I definitely try tour way! But I still like the creatures you mentioned like: Lord of the Void and Demon of Death's Gate.

Thanks for your help!!

Personally I don't know what they do Scorprix. Could you explain, why i should run it?

nice! Never would have thought of using the Putrid Imp, for some reason. I always had to do this Buried Alive, back in the old days. You made me take a new look at an old deck! Thank you! :)

Thanks for the kind words. But to honest, ClutchWorks is responsible for this deck. I mean I started this deck, but he helped me a lot!

It's so that Extraplanar Lens doesn't double your opponents mana.

Also, if you add them, make sure to cut Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
