A decent amount of first changes —Aug. 11, 2017

This deck is still a work in progress for me, I don't suspect further updates will involve switching out so many cards but I believe some of these are pretty obvious moves in a good direction.

I replaced Beastmaster Ascension for MImic Vat. I just think MImic Vat has a lot more use in this slot, the +5/+5 permanent buff up is not as good as throwing down a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth or Regal Force every turn. I really like Beastmaster Ascension but I thought this was the only card worth swapping out.

I found there is such a thing as too much ramp and so I outed Krosan Drover, Quirion Elves, and one Forest ] to put in Greenwarden of Murasa, Temur Sabertooth and Natural Order. Krosan Drover is swell and all but in a deck producing so much mana a mere 2 cost reduction isn't as valuable as Temur Sabertooth's bounce when you have so many ETB and cast effects in the deck. Greenwarden of Murasa is a good card to bounce and is more graveyard help in the form of a permanent. Natural Order is just a really cool tutor card and tutoring is something I might add more of in general.

I outed Stonehoof Chieftain for Void Winnower. I didn't know Void Winnower was a thing until a day or two after posting or otherwise I would have placed it in this spot anyways. A way to stop or at least slow down board wipes? Sign me up. Most of the time I'm swinging with creatures that already have trample thanks to Kamahl, Fist of Krosa and they're likely pretty big so in reality the indestructible isn't really necessary.

I also replaced Cultivator of Blades with Wild Beastmaster because Wild Beastmaster is just a cheaper version of the same card (as a small addition the creatures don't have to be attacking for the effect either).

I outed Nature's Spiral for Eternal Witness because she is a permanent and can bounce.

I placed Tooth and Nail over Genesis Wave. Genesis Wave still might replace Primal Surge but for now I like Primal Surge better. Even though there is only 5 non-permanents in the deck I still don't like the idea running two cards of such similar effects. There's just better things out there. Tooth and Nail I think is the best green tutor. For 9 I can grab so many things, a Temur Saberooth + Eternal Witness / Artisan of Kozilek + Temur Sabertooth for graveyard help, Archetype of Endurance + Void Winnower for a fairly safe board state, or if I have Concordant Crossroads it's cool to grab It That Betrays + Kozilek, Butcher of Truth (or anything with annihilator). There are lots of possibilities and it's just so worth it to me.

Speaking of Concordant Crossroads I put that in and took out Taunting Elf because Taunting Elf isn't the best use of a one-drop slot. Concordant Crossroads on the other hand helps almost every creature card in the deck. It's way more expensive money wise but very worth it. I also mentioned It That Betrays which found it's way in over Blightsteel Colossus. It's just a more fun big guy and more annihilator.

I removed Protean Hulk because it was pointed out it's too big of a target without a reliable sac outlet. In turn I placed Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury in the slot. She's just great over all, extra elf bodies that make mana, artifact/enchantment removal, and powerful card draw which I need.

Lastly I just adjusted some of my lands a bit more, added Deserted Temple and Thespian's Stage.

Protean Hulk is often a Path to Exile bait and there are no reliable way to kill him without a sac outlet. He is also a liability to Bribery targets or steal effects for other combo decks to instant win the game. I would suggest replacing him with creature like Genesis Hydra. You also need Crop Rotation/Expedition Map/Sylvan Scrying to tutor up your important lands. If budget is not the issue, Gaea's Cradle is a must. I would also recommend Tooth and Nail to fish up some fatties from your deck after generating a ton of mana. I play freyalise and elf ball is definitely bonkers, feel free to check out my deck for ideas.

Enral I appreciate the suggestions. I assumed Protean Hulk would be have a big "exile-me-now" target on his back but I hadn't really considered all of the cards that steal your creatures, not to mention cards that can enter as a copy of him. Thanks for that, I will certainly not be wasting my money on him and considering a stronger choice.
Genesis Hydra is pretty cool but doesn't work well with Genesis Wave or Primal Surge. Unfortunately those two cards limit my tutoring capabilities since it's important not to run too many instant or sorcery cards. It's the trade off for having the potential to have 1/3rd of my deck on the field from one card. At least for right now I think the sacrifice is worth it, I have enough mana-producing elves and usually enough draw that tutoring for my land cards or other creatures would be an unnecessary luxury. Expedition Map and/or Tooth and Nail might still find a slot somewhere and the others will be tested and considered in other versions I am messing with.
