Sideboard

This deck wants to function as a Tempo deck, setting the opponents back, while trying to get itself ahead; this is done through cards like Smallpox and Ghost Quarter. Other removal spells act as a way to adjust depending on the situation. Life from the Loam is the key to making this engine work, and does best when getting the Life from the Loam + Ghost Quarter or/ Tectonic Edge land lock on. When this happens, it become very difficult for most decks to get their mana base set.

The way the deck actually wins, is by utilizing recurring threats, and value creatures. The main beater is Bloodghast, but Lingering Souls and Molten Vortex give a lot of additional dimension, and helps the deck feed the engine while going wide. The Treetop Village also adds some level of evasion, while also being an easily retrievable threat.

The last important aspect of the deck is the hand hate; like most JUND decks, it wants to fight it's battle at the top deck, and from the graveyard. Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek offer a lot of great information, while Raven's Crime is able to chip away repeatedly.
