Mono black Sac Engines

What are the top sac outlets and Sac fodder (ETB / LTB Creatures) that are available to mono black?

Attrition , Grave Pact , Fleshbag Marauder , Mortician Beetle , Abyssal Gatekeeper , Bloodghast , and Contamination . I really don't know too many ETB creatures in black...

I like Attrition . I see Hell's Caretaker on lists sometimes.

When stuff starts ETB/LTB in black Blood Artist likes to watch and Rune-Scarred Demon likes to participate.

there are a lot of really good options but I don't have time right now. I will message a good list when I get back but it might take a while.

I like Altar of Dementia in a sac deck because in a format so full of board wipes its nice to at least fill their graves a bit. and heck if your even using a ton of token populating hell that can add up quick

Would Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed be a good "ETB/LTB" creature since it can sac itself to return any black card from the graveyard

Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is limited by a few things, when it comes to that functionality: his trigger requires him to attack, which won't happen until a full turn later without some haste. It also requires him to be able to attack; there are a number of things that could stop that, anywhere from Ghostly Prison to Moat to Pacifism . I would think of his sacrifice trigger as a good secondary ability to complement the fact he is generally a 3/2 unblockable creature in mono black.

If you want him for recurring creatures back to your hand, I'd suggest Gravedigger instead; it lacks the conditional attributes Mr. Ate His Own Eye has, but it triggers immediately upon coming into play, which makes it more potentially useful to be recurred itself.

Correction, I misread Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed 's ability; it doesn't require him to attack, but it still only happens at instant speed at a specific place in your turn. It also has the ability to target any black card apparently, which has various potential uses. I'd still prefer Gravedigger over him for recursion purposes, but Xiahou Dun makes an alright attacker, and that ability is more flexible than I realized.

I think Contamination is a good sac outlet in mono black as well.

Mindslicer makes a mean LTB in mono black especially with all the card draw potential like Necropotence , Greed and Phyrexian Arena .
