vinylghost, if you’re interested in an update, I’ve made some changes to the deck that I think really smooth out the gameplay.

I took out 2x Beastbreaker of Bala Ged, 2x Kazandu Tuskcaller, 1x Lighthouse Chronologist, 1x Venerated Teacher, 4x Experimental Augury, and 1x Drown in Ichor and in their place I added 2x Reject Imperfection, 4x Serum Snare, 4x Sheoldred's Edict, and 1x Training Grounds.

The deck feels a lot better to play now as I’m not always swamped with so many level up creatures that it becomes impossible to level them all up and I can usually control the board long enough to fully pump up a threat or two. It still needs some work and further play testing to smooth out more of the wrinkles, but I think what I have here is a good start.

How are you finding the deck with the changes you’ve made?

Made an account just to say I really like this, was looking for a relaxed pre-made to play with some friends and it looks good! To try and give some consistency (and knowing who I'm playing against lol), I took some of the recommendations from wallisface and fully dropped Experimental Augury for the three recommended, in varying quantities, as well as Murder. I dropped a handful of the level ups (specifically, three of Beastbreaker of Bala Ged and two of Joraga Treespeaker, and a couple other changes like moving Echo Mage up from the Maybeboard), and added Sheoldred, Whispering One for a bit of pressure that doesn't require a bunch of mana dumping after-the-fact. Will be testing it here shortly in a multiplayer game, and would love to know any changes you've made that may give me some more insight, as a casual player who tends to miss seemingly obvious cards.

Thanks Balaam__ and NonetheWeisser!

jdogz32 I didn't even think about CoCo, that's a great suggestion! I'll give it a go and see how it feels.

wallisface that's exactly the issue I'm running into, too many things to try to pump up without enough resources to do so, all while just being a sitting duck for my opponents. I like your suggestions and I will definitely play around with them. I'll start with taking out Beastbreaker of Bala Ged, Kazandu Tuskcaller and Lighthouse Chronologist, and swapping out Experimental Augury for something more interactive and go from there. Thanks for your insight, it is very much appreciated!

If you are looking to make this standard legal, you need to remove Copperhorn Scout, Beastbreaker of Bala Ged, Graypelt Refuge and Lace with Moonglove. As for making it better, what do you want it to be? Most R/G decks currently are werewolves, but there are landfall decks too.

wow...first i thought "why the hell is he playing all that...is there some combo i missed in there [frantically searching the deck list all over again]" and then i saw the all two-drops-theme...nicely done!

I do have some suggestions that could potentially upgrade the deck...

since your commander can already produce mana: Myr Superion

your hand will be emtpy pretty fast: Lupine Prototype

you can refill by saccing either of those for Life's Legacy (also goes great with Hydras

Elvish Vanguard could be of use as well as Dwynen's Elite, Haze of Rage, Bloodmark Mentor, Moldgraf Scavenger, Bramblewood Paragon, Firefist Striker, Nest Invader, Obsessive Skinner, Bramblesnap, Goblin Wardriver, Mogg War Marshal, Brindle Shoat, Cryptolith Rite, Lightning Mauler, Thrive, Deadly Recluse, Gruul Signet, Hooded Hydra, Gyre Sage, Goblin Tunneler, Strangleroot Geist, Break Through the Line, Beastcaller Savant, Beastbreaker of Bala Ged, Dryad Sophisticate, Dual Casting and last but not least Burning-Tree Emissary...there are so many good choices for 2-drops...

If you opt to include Myr Superion you might also think about adding the mana myr for red and green: Copper Myr + Iron Myr as well as Life's Legacy + Myr Retriever and/or Carapace Forger

If you want to play Lupine Prototype you really want to play Life's Legacy and/or Myr Retriever, Fling

Since most of the cards also fit a tribe you already have in the deck, your Tribal Forcemage should become better as well

I hope this deck will be loads of fun for you.
