The crusader is a godsend, fighting off board wipes and winning games almost on its own. Its a keeper.

Ostone continues to impress! I'm a little frustrated with Vess, though. While I have triggered her ultimate for positively hilarious results, I'm just not sure that I wouldn't be better served by beseech the queen or a similar effect. I'm also tempted by effects like Living Death, but I think that could be... dangerous. I find myself using Vess as a 5 mana vampiric tutor much more often than I'm comfortable with. Triumph of the Hordes is just incredible. I can't believe it isn't standard issue in any ramp deck ever.
BUR instead of BWR now.

Completely changed this deck around by removing white completely and adding blue for counters.

Dark Ascension
AgntOrange, 13 years ago
With the release of Dark Ascension (DA), not many decks receive much power. Except for this one. Green is a powerful color in DA with some powerful creatures. Namely, Strangleroot Geist, Predator Ooze, and Vorapede. Each are resistant to conventional removal, which is running rampant, save a well placed Oblivion Ring.
Strangleroot Geist reminds me of Bloodghast. A powerful creature in Zendikar vampires. However, Geist is much better for my purposes. It always has haste, comes back stronger (although only once), and it's green, of course. It trades with creatures against aggro and beats into a control deck. Who wants to waste a kill spell on something that's only going to get bigger because of it?
Vorapede is big, strong, and has two lives. Trample and vigilance plus undying is pretty good in my book. It has much the same appeal as Strangleroot Geist, but slower and bigger.

I went 1-2 (mono-white), 1-2 (b-infect), 2-0 (u/g-infect). My thought was to combo out of nowhere while they're still building a broad presence, as most of the field comprised of aggro decks; infect, mono-white, tokens. All of the games I won involved comboing-off with my artifacts or disrupting their game-plan until I dealt ten damage to my opponent. Mirran Crusader and Liliana of the Veil were my biggest problems and won my opponents 3 games. I have since updated my sideboard to counter the aforementioned threats.

Green Token Deck
DKA Additons
chappelle010894, 13 years ago
Since I attended the Pre-Release of DKA, I was able to trade for Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Vault of the Archangel. I have exchanged the Consecrated Sphinx for Mikaeus, removed 1x Tribute to Hunger and sideboarded the Ghost Quarter for decks like Kessig Wolfrun. I have also done a few play tests with the new cards and found that Mikaeus is really stamping the battlefield with his undying ability along with Phantasmal Image returning to recopy anything on the field. With Geist of Saint Traft added, if he dies Sun Titan brings him back and along with Mikaeus, it really makes the deck run a little bit better. I am only running one of them due to the fact that with Solarflare, it does not matter if it is in the graveyard, I can always bring them back.

Came in 7th out of about 25 people. I got lucky and ended up facing a lot of RDW which I think this deck excels against.
Big Update

- Rust Tick
- Vedalken Engineer
- Walking Atlas}}

Removed 1x Chancellor of the Spires 1x Trespassing Souleater for 2x Jace, Memory AdeptDubiousKing, 13 years ago
Switched out Corpse Lunge, as it made little sense here. I'm exiling a creature I could instead fetch with Woodland Sleuth to deal, at most, 2 damage for 3 mana? I think the only reason I had it there is because I (somehow) don't have a lot of black removal laying around. EDIT: Discovered the Hex Parasite synergy, so I switched out the Woodland Sleuths. Cheaper creature return that I can pull off at clutch moments.
Hex Parasite!
voxdolo, 13 years ago
Added some hex parasites for an interesting mechanic pointed out by a friend: Removing the undying counter at instant speed as they're going to the graveyard... and voila, they're back on the playfield again!change up
Z3RO, 13 years ago
figured it was time for a change up so i changed it to red from green for a more aggro base. I am not entirely sure that this setup is what i need as i might need to toss in Infernal Plunge as another way to mana ramp and I need another Faithless Looting in my opinion. I am not sure how this will play but i think it would be just as fun as the former since i have a couple of one ofs and phyrexian metamorphs to copy anything i need.SHUDOP, 13 years ago
Changed the name to be more accurate and Changed out Silver-Inlaid Dagger for Avacyn's Collar Which seemed to be the better option as taking out Creatures didn't work well in my favor one bit.
Removal > Lifegain?!
DanielB, 13 years ago

Dark Ascension Update!
kingboo3000, 13 years ago
I meddled with a lot of numbers, but it mostly came down to replacing Day of Judgment with Sudden Disappearance. Which is WAY better in this deck with the Sundial.
thalegion, 13 years ago
Added in cards I already own plus 2 tragic slips and 4 geralf's messenger, which I will obtain next week, deck seems to be playtesting very well at this time
Update 2.0
axefaktor, 13 years ago
The version of Call to Ghave above is the most recent version of the deck. It has since been dismantled but I will rebuild it again at some point in the future. Please feel free to comment and give your recommendations for how to make this a better deck, as it is still my favorite EDH deck I've ever had and I want to keep making it better.
Also check out my other creations including Mimeoplasm's Phyrexia, Progenitus - It's what's for dinner, and my most recent build: Rafiq the Enchanted!

Update 1.1
axefaktor, 13 years ago
Not sure what I was thinking with Champion of the Parish lol. I think I had initially thought a human theme would be fun, but that is no longer the point, so I dropped him and added Akroma's Vengeance.
After play-testing a bunch of times, my record was 4-1 against Kaltha's Riku's Scorched Warfare. The deck holds up well in 1v1. Then I played two 4-player games against Riku's Scorched Warfare, a Zedruu the Greathearted *f-etch* deck by zenbasis (which he has yet to upload), and a Kaalia of the Vast deck. I came in third both games, losing an enchantment standoff against zenbasis in the first, then wiping zenbasis early in the second, but getting overpowered by the other two shortly thereafter.
I had already decided to scratch Champion of the Parish, and I thought more Wrath effects would be a good addition, so in went Akroma's Vengeance. It's too easy for a deck that focuses on powering up one creature to get overrun by one that focuses on army, so I needed a way to counter that.
