Corpses for Rakdos Reanimator

Deck Help forum

(As of now, I've gotten enough suggestions, but more are always welcome.)

My first reanimator deck was a Grixis-colored Worldgorger dragon combo. While it was a cheap way to frustrate a table, I thought the idea of a Rakdos-colored deck that didn't depend on a combo would be a lot more fun.

I've already got a decent part of the deck decided on:

Draw/Discard (12)

-4x Faithless Looting

-4x Cathartic Reunion

-4x Tormenting Voice

Reanimate (12)

-4x Reanimate

-4x Animate Dead

-4x Exhume

Corpses (16)

Thing is, I'm not sure what I want to put in the "corpses" section. That's where I want YOU, the reader, to contribute. Suggest a creature and why, and I'll consider it. (As a note, I like diversity, so I'm running only one copy of each creature.)

bro, to hell with the consistent version. Try for the t1 crusher swinging.

I have a deck and video, check it out.

You might like to make this a commander deck by the way

JohannKlink - those are two small for my taste. Think BIG, like Iona, Shield of Emeria big. We're not worrying about casting costs, because we simply aren't casting the creatures.

Simon_Williamson - good news is, I've got Malfegor and Griselbrand already in my collection. Forgot about Rakdos the Defiler, and swinging with him this early is going to leave someone screaming bloody murder. And I've been meaning to get me a Hellcarver Demon. Both of those two would go perfect in a deck that needs little resources.

Probably won't go for making this a commander deck, though. Would make the whole thing a LOT slower, and less consistent.

Glad to hear! Those are crazy fun cards wipe their board ten times over while flooding yours. I you want to be cruel Platinum Angel & Abyssal Persecutor is a great combo.

Of course someone had to mention Abyssal Persecutor + Platinum Angel . We must be related.

I'll probably first focus on legendaries, then the non-legendary creatures. Except for Hellcarver Demon, the only thing his ability doesn't work with in the deck is lands, which means that if his ability lets me play most of the deck for free, I'll gladly do it.

I suspect I've found my fill, but people are welcome to post more ideas.

@Simon_Williamson Remember that Progenitus, Worldspine Wurm and the Colossi don't work in this particular deck.

Dammit. Well Hellcarver Demon but yeah for the most part they don't work. I still don't know why Little Girl doesn't get shuffled in.

We do not speak of Little Girl.

Pathrazer of Ulamog is a favorite of mine for reanimator decks

_person_ - favorite Eldrazi of mine for reanimator would have to be It That Betrays. Having that work alongside Sheoldred, Whispering One and Thraximundar is crazy.

That's true. The reason I like Pathrazer is because of the evasion. Casting it turn 1-3 makes it very hard to block. I once had a game where I reanimated pathrazer t1, and my opponent played a Deadly Recluse. If it had been It that Betrays, he would have sacrificed 2 lands, and blocked. But, why not just run both?
