What about we revive an archetype that was forgotten months ago just for fun?

Welcome for my another edition of making bad cards/mechanic into decent decks. Let's see if I can make a deck using the Awakening mechanic and fight against the current metagame. Who says this mechanic is for limited format only? We'll find out.

The Awakeners!

The Awaken mechanic is so expensive to play for this current standard metagame but it doesn't mean they cant be used. So I picked the best cards that can fight against them. A counterspell is always very good in a control and grindy decks like this coupled with fogs and end it with a boardwipe that doesn't affect your land creatures. They make lands creatures and march into victory. Halimar Tidecaller returns these awakened cards to our hand and cast those again...also it gives your land creatures flying. Most likely, she will be emerged with Elder Deep-Fiend but at least she is utilized haha!

The Supporting Cast!

This is where Baral, Chief of Compliance comes in with Jace, Unraveler of Secrets. Baral gives your spells and your awakened spells discount to cast them early and fight against early threats. Elder Deep-Fiend destroys your opponent's tempo and its Emerge mechanic is easy to cast thanks to Wall of Resurgence and Halimar Tidecaller . Blessed Alliance is very good early game defensive card specially when you escalate it. The rest of the cards are self explanatory.

Miscellaneous Stuff!

With more aggressive decks in this meta, Authority of the Consuls is a must in this deck. Dovin Baan is always welcome for any UW based decks for it gives you card advantage and it can protect himself.

The Sideboards.

Most of the sideboards are your typical sideboards for UW shell. Counterspells are always good against control and combo decks and lifegain cards for aggressive decks and some midrange matchups.
