Deck in Progress
Need help making this a competitive/broken as possible!
My Squirrel Themed Vintage deck. I attend Miami University and the campus is infested with thousands of squirrels so I figured this deck would complement that nicely. I also find it amusing that our mascot is a Redhawk which is the main predator (not including cars or the local rednecks) of the squirrel and yet we have such a big infestation.
That aside, this deck aims to spam out squirrels and attack in mass. This is my first deck for the format and I want to make it as strong as I can. The sideboard definitely needs some work.
Any suggestions and +1's are very much appreciated!
Acorn Harvest is good. the flashback is easily worth it, as you gain life on creatures entering play(Leyline of Vitality , so only a -1 on life). Also: have you seen Acorn Catapult ? each turn, you ping a player or creature for 1 damage, to give that player controller a Squirrel token!
I have seen Acorn Catapult and goes very well card:Druid's Call. It all comes down to what cards I should cut to to add it in. This also applies to card:Cathars' Crusade, as I really want to main board it. With so many creatures entering the battlefield, why not have them pump up!
this happened on my first playtesting.
-turn one: Forest , Chatter of the Squirrel -turn two: Sunpetal Grove , Earthcraft , Attack for 1-turn three: Squirrel Nest on the Forest , tapped the untapped squirrel to untap the Forest . Forest tapped to make squirrel token. repeated to maked infinite squirrel tokens. next turn Beastmaster Ascension and attack, putting 7 counters on the Beastmaster Ascension and hitting with infinite 6/6
First off you need to add Sunpetal Grove to the card list second you can also use Skyshroud Elf to filter your white mana or red mana for that matter if you want to run Fervor +Vitalize to kill them on T3 instead of waiting till T4 and giving them a chance to pop off a Pyroclasm or Engineered Plague on all your fresh squirrel babes
I have a kind similar deck more focused on getting the Infinite combo, Sara Ahlström's Lek. May I suggest Enlightened Tutor even though it's white and if steering slightly into white also Sterling Grove to protect and fetch those enchantments.
