This is an aggressive Shaman Tribal deck I've been working on as a sort of budgety brew to take to FNM. I enjoy playing this deck because it plays aggressively but also focuses on manipulating its draws and tutoring for key cards. Rage Forger is the deck's key card, as it is our main lord and win con.

I think the biggest thing I'm considering right now is adding a playset of Aether Vial s. The question is, what would I cut, and would it be worth it?

NOTE: I'm bad at coding and can't get the html images to work. Hopefully they'll be there soon, and if anyone can give me any tips on that kind of stuff I'd really appreciate it.

Card Choices Explained Show

Creature Choices

Bosk Banneret: Makes every card in the deck that requires colorless mana (18 not including other copies of the banneret) much more efficient to cast. Can help me get T3 Shaman of the Great Hunts, but more importantly gets me into two-spell territory a turn earlier. Burning-Tree Emissary: Gives me the opportunity for explosive T2 plays. Some of my favorite opening hands to keep are ones with multiples of these, as they allow me to have an incredibly threatening board presence in the early game. Also a bear in itself, and can become a threat with Rage Forger / Adaptive Automaton . Elvish Visionary: Shaman that replaces itself. Not much to say other than it's bad in very few scenarios. Eternal Witness : An excellent utility card that allows me to retrieve key creatures or a used Lightning Bolt or Lead the Stampede from the yard, plus a shaman for more interactions with other cards. Fauna Shaman: Allows us to tutor for Rage Forger, the deck's main win con. Again, it's also a shaman. Flamekin Harbinger: T1 shaman that tutors up our win con? Gimme a playset. Rage Forger: The deck's main win con. This card enables us to go in for a swing that would be much larger than before, and even gives us some reach if they have blockers. The essential piece of the deck. Shaman of the Great Hunt: A hasty 4 drop that tops my curve, but is absolutely worth the two of slot. An excellent card for going into the midgame, as it gives a very relevant pump to all of our creatures and card draw to give us more gas. Additionally, 4/2 hasty shamans for 4 work quite well in the deck. Wolf-Skull Shaman: A card that synergizes with half the deck and is insane in multiples. Makes your board scary, plus is a bear-bodied shaman. Once in a while, I'll even name Wolves on Adaptive Automaton if this card has been successfully abused.

Noncreature Spell Choices

Lead the Stampede: An excellent form of card draw that lets us get the gas we need to push through the final damage necessary for lethal in the mid game. Odds are good it hits at least 2 creatures. Considering replacing with Collected Company, but we'll see.Lightning Bolt: Removal, reach, efficiently costed, it's the most played card in modern for a reason.Shared Animosity: Since all our creatures are shamans (save Adaptive Automaton ), is usually a harder to remove Gahiji, Honored One effect, but can be even better in the right scenarios.

Land Choices

Copperline Gorge: The deck's best early game land, acts as Taiga in the early game.

Forest: ForestKessig Wolf Run: A one of that just lets us use any extra mana we may have in the mid/late game to get some trample damage through. Not used at its best in this deck, but still an effective one of that lets us reach through board stalls.Mountain: MountainMutavault: An excellent land that gives us another body in the mid/late game and retains its counters from Rageforger. Only a 3 of because I want access to my colors for T2 Burning-Tree Emissary .Stomping Ground: It's a shock. Can enter tapped or untapped in the early game depending on whether I have plays, just a very versatile land.Wooded Foothills: It's a fetch. Significantly helps my color fixing for T2 Burning-Tree Emissary and can get Stomping Grounds if I don't have access to both my colors.

Sideboard Choices

Ancient Grudge: Hitting two artifacts for 3 can really hurt affinity, also hits Wurmcoil Engine and one of its tokens.Atarka's Command: An excellent utility card that gives us some reach against blockers, prevents life gain, gives a relevant combat trick, or even just helps us ramp faster.Burning-Tree Shaman: A decent bodied shaman that gives twin a tax if they want to combo off.Descendants' Path: Good against control as it helps us get creatures down uncounterably and is better in the later game. Too slow for the mainboard but good in grindier matchups.Destructive Revelry: Helps with affinity, problematic enchantments, kills Merfolk's Aether Vial s, direct face damage, versatile removal card.Flame Slash: Additional creature removal that hits most-everything in the early game. Very efficiently costed, but sorc speed is a detriment, as is being unable to target the face. Helps me get creatures through nonetheless.Relic of Progenitus: All encompassing graveyard hate that also replaces itself. Considering replacing with Tormod's Crypt.
