B/W Tokens is in essence a disruptive and aggressive midrange strategy that that tries to delay the opponent while going wide and overwhelming the them with a board full of buffed tokens.

This is my version of the deck. I started playing it roughly a year ago and have always really enjoyed it. It was the first "competitive" deck I built for Modern and I have never regretted that decision. It might not be a tier 1 ultra competitive deck that has won numerous titles throughout it's history as a deck, but it is highly adaptive and can thrive in almost any meta with just a few adjustments. Your personal tokens list might significantly differ from my own, as we face different opponents that force us to adapt in various ways. One of the best examples for this might be the Aven Mindcensors in my sideboard. They are there to help against my archnemesis , the Amulet Titan matchup. A foe that is not all that common, against which I want a fighting chance nontheless.

In the following section I'll try to go into as much detail as possible regarding my card choices and the overall structure of the deck.

If you have any questions or suggestions on how to make the deck better, please let me know in the comments section. I'd love to discuss the deck with you all!

(I'll try to keep this section up to date as I improve my deck and grow as a player. I'll also probably add a sideboarding and matchup guide sometime soon)

Discard

Inquisiton of Kozilek as a 4-off to start. It is a really no drawback discard spell. We play it because discarding is our main way of daeling with any unfair kinda tactics. Often times just discarding our opponents best card and crippeling their game plan is our best early game play. Usually we want to do this on turn 1. Thoughtseize is just like this, but more flexible, as it has no restriction on what it can discard (aside from lands, but we're not 8-Rack, so who cares). It comes with the downside of costing 2 life, which can hurt us in the aggro matchup. Our deck can deal with the life loss relatively well though, so it's a great option for us. Collective Brutality is the last heavily played discard spell. Since discards are usually pretty bad topdecks late in the game, the added modes on this card go a long way. It can double as removal and a life gain spell in addition to discard, which makes it a devastating play vs dekcs like Burn, We also have great cards to discard in Lingering Souls and Start // Finish.

Removal

Path to Exile is the single best and most versatile creature removal spell in Modern. We really should play 4 of these to deal with any kind of problematic creature. Be it a Gurmag Angler or a Primeval Titan. Fatal Push was a big improvement to B/W Tokens when it was first released. It allows us to run a removal that specifically shines in the aggro matchup. We run a lot of fetchlands, so revolting it is very easy in this deck. Lastly I want to cover Finish, the Aftermath half of Start // Finish. It has a higher cost at 3 mana and the sacrefice of a creature, but it can kill any kind of big green men. The big advantage here is, that it is stapeled to a token producer, acting as a sort of free card, adding value and allowing us to attempt to outgrind our opponent.

Token Producers

Bitterblossom is the deck defining card choice here. It is what differentiates the two destinct version of this deck. The more controlish version runs Bitterblosom, while the more agggressive one runs Raise the Alarm. Giving us incremental value over the course of the game and killing the opponent in 7 tunrs, going uninterupted without anthems. It'S a really powerful card, that we can utilize to it's fullest potential. Lingering Souls is the other incredible value card we use better than most other decks. Both of these produce flying tokens, which is a big deal allowing us to oush damage through effectively. Start // Finish Does an impression of Lingering SOuls due to it's 2 halfs. It's not as powerful, but can be used to block at instant speed or to quickly repopulate the board after a boardwipe. Legion's Landing is a newish addition to the deck. Lifelink tokens offset Bitterblossoms life loss and in the late game it can be used to create tokens in case of bad topdecks.

Anthems

Intangible Virtue is by far the best anthem ever. It only works for toens, but that doesn't bother us at all. It will speed up your clocks and allow you to fully swing without having to worry about defense. No reason not to include this. Sorin, Solemn Visitor works very well as another anthem. Lifelink can help offset the life loss from Bitterblossom . Don't underestimate his other modes though, all of them are pretty good. Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is another great planeswalker for the deck. He basically is a boardstat on his own and allows us to attack with a big body, which is something this deck can't do easily.

Notable Exclusion

Spectral Procession while clearly a very powerful card can really tax our manabase. We have a great alternative in Start//Finish, so imo it's worth it to justreplace it like this. It opens us up to play more at instant speed, gives us more removal and allows us to play more colorless lands, which are really good in the meta.
