Red"dish" Deck Wins

This is the deck I've been using lately in modern. It's an usual "red deck wins" deck, but with a splash of blue to use Treasure Cruise

"Just play with me and you won't get burned"


Objective

As any red deck wins, your objective is to win as fast as possible.

Cards Explanation

Creatures

  • Eidolon of the Great Revel: It's bad for you, but it's worse to your opponents. It can give tons of damage against any deck, even damages your opponent when they try to kill it. Plus side, it's killer against cards with recast, like Snapcaster Mage.
  • Goblin Guide: 2/2 Haste for one mana. Ok, it can give your opponent one land every turn, but it lets you have an control over your opponent decks, as you can see what he's going to draw.
  • Monastery Swiftspear: This is a bomb. It has haste and you can make him 4/5 easily. And any Lightning Strike turns into 5 damage. It's a amazing card in the late game, when you can cast it, then cast lot's of instants and sorceries to make it big.
  • Grim Lavamancer: It's a constant shock for your deck, but still.

Instants

The first objective of the instants in this deck is to deal direct damage on your opponent's face, the second objective is to pump Monastery Swiftspear and the third one is to destroy creatures on the board.

Sideboard

  • Dragon's Claw: It's soo brutal against mirrors and burn decks, that it's almost obscene.
  • Torpor Orb: It stops Splinter Twin decks, Soul Sisters, Pod decks.
  • Anger of the Gods: The board wiper of this deck. It also exiles the creatures, so it's a kill bomb against decks like junk and jund.
  • Blood Moon: Shut down lot's of decks.
  • Keranos, God of Storms: Ok, gonna admit it... I'm in love with this card... 66% of this deck aren't lands, then 66% of the times you will deal those 3 damages. In this deck you will hardly, hardly use it as a creature, and that is a real turn off.
  • Leyline of Punishment: It stops Lifegain and can't be countered. It stops decks like Soul Sisters.
  • Ancient Grudge: Our Affinity counter.
  • Ensnaring Bridge: There's turns where we have one, or even none, card at our hands. We can stop mid-range decks with this card.

Maybeboard

  • Searing Blaze: I really don't like this card because you must hit lands to really get the power of this card. IMHO, Searing Blood, even giving just 2 damage, it's kinda better.
  • Electrickery: One mass removal for small creatures, great against tokens deck. don't play more than 2 in a deck.
  • Izzet Charm: Izzet Charm is a cool card, because can counter one spell, or kills small creatures, or give you fuel to burn. Still, I don't really see this card being powerful in this deck.
  • Satyr Firedancer: A maybe card. You can turn a Lightning Strike into an Searing Blaze
  • Hellspark Elemental: Pretty fast creature, playabe if you're more creature inclined player.
  • Young Pyromancer: Puts guys on your board.

Suggestions

Updates Add

Well... We all had to give bye-bye to Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time (At last we can still run this deck. I fell really sorry for pod players), so I had to do some changes on this deck.

  1. Removed Treasure Cruise: Well... dah.
  2. Added Serum Visions as our "card draw" option.
  3. Removed Vexing Devils: It does nothing, really. It deals 4 damage when you need a creature, and it's a creature when you want to deal damage.
  4. Added some Ancient Grudge against Affinity decks (they're gonna be the real deal, trust me).
  5. Added a Ensnaring Bridge: There's turns where we have one, or even none, card at our hands. It's effective.
  6. Added Grim Lavamancer: We don't need the cards in our graveyard anymore, so the Grim Lavamancer is a good burn option
