so I love discards deck but i'm not the biggest fan of the usual 8-rack so i built this.
In ur opener u want 2-3 lands and either a Waste Not or Liliana's Caress or else u should mulligan as they are ur 2 main win cons.
Turn 1 ideally u want to play a Thoughtseize or an Inquisition of Kozilek but its fine if u don't
turn 2 play caress or waste not ideallyand from there play as many waste nots/ caresses as possible then win using Burning Inquiry, Wistful Thinking, Blightning or if u don't have them u can win with Nyxathid which is usually either a 6/6 or 7/7.
Now i'll go through the roles of the cards:
Blightning discard with bonus damage works with Liliana's Caress and Waste Not
Burning Inquiry refer to blightning but more mana efficient and more discard+ can help cycle through ur deck
Damnation u will more than likely have very few creatures unless u go off with waste not so this is key for staying alive
Inquisition of Kozilek pretty obvious just takes out their best card against u and it of course counts as discarding activating Liliana's Caress and Waste Not
Thoughtseize refer to inquisition of kozilek
Wistful Thinking I would say this is the main win con, discarding 4 cards even after drawing 2 often leaves the opponent with very few cards in hand and with one Liliana's Caress out thats 8 damage and with 2 out u've practically won the game.
Dream Salvage don't want to play it if Ensnaring Bridge is doing work of course but can easily be an Ancestral Recall or even better.
Kolaghan's Command just a very versatile card which can bring back ur Nyxathid and ur Snapcaster Mage as well as kill their creatures and artifacts but most importantly can make them discard at instant speed.
Liliana's Caress 1 of 2 main win cons, can kill very easily especially if there is 2 out.
Waste Not the second win con, if u have more than 2 out then be prepared for ensnaring bridges to be turned off but they are so good, they give u ramp, drawing and even creatures every time ur opponent discards
Ensnaring Bridge this card can lead u to some very long games if ur opponent doesnt have any artifact removal but often especially in game 2 it is susceptible to removal. Basically this is to stall out the board until u can get ur win cons online.
Nyxathid 7/7 for seems fair right? there is a drawback but with this deck it is hardly noticed and this guy is massive at both stalling the board and getting in for huge chunks of damage.
Snapcaster Mage basically good lategame can very easily replay ur wistful thinking, burning inquiry or even a thoghtseize/ inquisition of kozilek for lots of value
Liliana of the Veil seems to be more of a distraction for ur opponent than anything. kills a creature and then stops them attacking at u for a turn and if they chose to just attack u then u get value off the +1. Also in stalled out games with ensnaring bridges and such her ultimate becomes very powerful.
now for the sideboard
Bribery sideboard against tron which i had trouble against
Fulminator Mage refer to bribery
Kolaghan's Command another one could well be needed agains artifact heavy decks
Pithing Needle stops deck: expedition map nicely but also stops a range of other things like a Thopter Foundry
Rain of Gore life gain sucks to play against for this deck but is quite uncommon
Relic of Progenitus when ur putting so many cards in ur opponents graveyard this card can definitely become necessary.
Spellskite great against many many many decks including burn, zoo and many more.
Surgical Extraction very useful against cards that kill the deck like Destructive Revelry, Maelstrom Pulse, Qasali Pridemage and others.
