Undercity Troll

Creature — Troll

Renown 1 (When this creature deals combat damage to a player, if it isn't renowned, put a +1/+1 counter on it and it becomes renowned.)

: Regenerate Undercity Troll. (The next time this creature would be destroyed this turn, it isn't. Instead, tap it, remove all damage from it, and remove it from combat.)

A revoir donc. Je pense mettre a jour la decklist d'ici demain ou apres demain.

I'm separating all of my suggestions by double spacing so that they are easier to follow and distinguish.

Make sure you have 60 cards.

On average you want 22-24 lands. For this deck I would do 22 since I have ways to lower the mana curve later in this comment.

Keep things even and as consistent as possible. For your spells with cmc 4 or less, you should run play sets. Spells with 5 and up cmc should be in lower quantity since you are less likely to play them in a game. To make things easier to work with I would only run 2 of each of your more mana expensive cards. That way everything stays even and easy to count.

I would try to keep the creature to noncreature spell ratio about 2:1. With 22 lands, this puts you around 24:13 (aim for 24:14) give or take to keep things even.

I don't think that Kytheon / Gideon is really worth spending money on to put into this deck. He doesn't have any interaction with renown or 1/1 counters.

Some renown creatures that may work well in this deck that are not on your deck list are Citadel Castellan (mana efficient), Honored Hierarch (efficient T1 play, gains vigilance, gains tap to add mana), Kytheon's Irregulars (for board control), Relic Seeker (if you play with auras) Rhox Maulers (has trample), Undercity Troll (mana efficient and can regenerate), and War Oracle (lifelink).

Your noncreature spells should consist mainly, if not entirely, of instants so that you can protect your creatures while your opponent is taking their turn.

I would replace Anointer of Champions with Honored Hierarch. Then again you want to keep your mana curve low so you might want both.

You may like cards such as Wilt-Leaf Liege.

Hope this was helpful.

You're gonna need removal and more land. 20 seems like enough for mono-colored decks. Believe me, it's not. Try 22, cut the Undercity Troll if you need to. Rabid Bite is probably your best bet for green removal right now.

I like the idea of the deck, I tried to build a simillar one myself and am super hyped about an aura deck, the thing with yours is that you do nothing on the first 2 turns, you are just dropping lands and if you dont hit a 3rd land you just wont do a thing for the rest of the game and might as well just lose straight away. That said I would recommend you played cheaper creatures and auras, there are quite a bit out there, in my build I experimented with Marang River Skeleton, Gudul Lurker, Rattlechains, Olivia's Bloodsworn and Topplegeist, you could even use Undercity Troll and keep Conifer Strider. As for the auras I suggest you keep only the ones you like the most and exchange the rest for some cheaper ones in the format, like Infectious Bloodlust, Mantle of Webs, Call of the Full Moon, Goblin War Paint, Stratus Walk, Gryff's Boon or Senseless Rage. You will have to make some changes to the deck, but you have some options if you want to keep on playing only this colors, also you will have to change the manabase, 27 is too much for and aggro-midrange kind of deck something around 22-24 would be just fine. Hope I helped with something, cool idea! C:

Undercity Troll = hatebear. I'm dead xD +1

Good deck tho, it's a lot simpler than the build I always ran. And also better because I always went with the outlast guys that gave flying or trample, but they rotate out soon. Tho unfortunately so does Hardened Scales :(

Counter decks are gonna lose a lot of juice with that one imo.

Drop the Undercity Trolls; they're pretty pointless here, since regenerate can't protect against sacrifice effects. I'd say cut the Voracious Nulls as well. Ideally, sac outlets should be free which is why Nantuko Husk is so great. Plus, the Null's ability can only be activated at sorcery speed which means it can be somewhat vulnerable to removal, unlike the Husk. As for what to replace them with; Firstly, put the Blisterpod count up to four; they're a nice turn one play, and they're functionally almost identical to Carrier Thrall. I'd advise looking into Sultai Emissary too; it's cheap and dies into a creature larger than itself, which allows some crazy combat- before blocks, sac the Emissary to Nantuko Husk to turn it into a 4/4 and get a free 2/2 whilst you're at it.Other than that, I like the deck! It's very reminiscent of another B/G Aristocrats deck that one of my friends put together for the Oath Game Day, and trust me- Blisterpods, Emissaries and Carrier Thralls are a nightmare for RDW to fight through. :)

So I did some play testing tonight against a few decks including UW control and a land destruction deck. In a nutshell Master Biomancers cmc Seems to be to high to make him viable. Even T3 or T4 post Heartless Summoning chances are we've either been through an Inquisition of Kozilek gauntlet, or it just gets pathed or bolted. Kalonian Hydra cmc also felt high, and it seemed vulnerable.

Den Protector has some quite cool Heartless Summoning synergy with its morph cost. Tasigur did what Tasigur does, and the Phyrexian Metamorphs were useful to duplicate biomancers.

Currently thinking about a rebuild using Corpsejack Menace, Thrun, the Last Troll, Undercity Troll and Varolz, the Scar-Striped to make things a bit more resistant to removal and counter spells. Maybe also Scavenging Ooze and main boarding Kitchen Finks.

Abundant Growth may be a ramp replacement for Birds of Paradise.

Any thoughts??
