Oblivion Stone and Cataclysmic Gearhulk both seem fairly good.

You could also run a few fetchlands such as Flooded Strand and combo them with Crucible of Worlds to assure a land drop every turn which I assume you want in this deck.

Other than that, I don't know perhaps Gitaxian Probe , Force of Will , Sword of Feast and Famine , and Treachery .

@DPenguin22 I've thought about Ghirapur Orrery in the past and I know from seeing it played in commander that it might make it too easy for my opponents get ahead of me in this game. Noyan Dar is really looking for the long game. Thanks for the suggestions.

@CaptSilva I have been looking for an invention version of Cataclysmic Gearhulk to include. I want to take out Land Equilibrium because it is just too slow. The Gearhulk provides redundancy on a decent body. The only reason I didn't include Treachery is because it is not an instant or sorcery. Probe & Force are great but I haven't found another card I'd take out to them up to this point. I'm having a hard time cutting cards since this is been pretty well tested. The sword is great but doesn't fit into my plan today. Thanks for your suggestions.

Nice deck and very well done description. Take a closer look to your upvote button. When I upvoted your deck the button has send me to another deck.. (Slimefoot's Aristocracy)

@thom-le I copied the majority of my code from that deck and the upvote button code was not changed. I really appreciate you letting me know. I will change that now.

You're welcome. At the moment I'm also trying to work on this button, would you be so kind and check, if my upvote-button in the description section of my Saheeli's Ironworks (KCI) does work?

But I'm not only here for your coding, I've also tested your deck. I think it does work well in a multiplayer-game. You're never the main threat on the board (for your opponents) until you get in the position of dealing high damage. I'd recommend Settle the Wreckage , it works well with your Land Equilibrium , maybe Magus of the Balance or an early Restore Balance . Shimmer would definitely create some hate against you, but could be useful. Standstill is very effective for control decks, because in normal case you'll get some card draw for cheap and also hinder some opponents in their board development. In the Maybeboard put something in against Graveyard-decks like Remorseful Cleric , but this depends on your play group.

For another instants or sorceries maybe consider AEtherize against attacking creatures. Flood of Recollection gets you any spell back to your hand.

thom-le I will go take a look at your deck and let you know how the button works.

I'm so glad to hear that you have tested my deck out. I think it runs very well and I appreciate the suggestions to enhance some of the cards already in the deck. I think AEtherize and Flood of Recollection are great cards and I have thought about adding them in the past. I'm to that point where it is hard to cut cards. But I will say that the one card I was thinking about cutting was Land Equilibrium. Not that it doesn't help but its tough to spend turn 4 casting that card. It really does "get" the ramp decks which is great but it can also be a card that just does nothing.

Settle the Wreckage is also great, but I hate ramping my opponents. Having Land Equilibrium out would be necessary for me to want to cast that. I think there is enough bounce in the deck that it isn't necessary but that might just be my meta. It is still a great card and would make sense to play over other cards if you own it.

Balance effects draws so much hate in my area that I stay away from those cards but they do work with this deck seeing as how you are usually not ramping at all.

I also love the idea of Shimmer but I'm trying to keep my instant and sorcery count high so I tend to avoid enchantments. See... Metallurgic Summonings .

Noyan has been on my to do list, and this takes the cake. Great list, +1.

Would Isochron Scepter fit here? I see alot of 2 cmc instants and you mention one of them is practically a lynch pin, so why not cast it... 'on a schtick' ;).

bushido_man96 I appreciate the comment! I've been working on this for quite a while and I am happy with where this deck is today.

Mj3913 thanks for the compliment! The only reason I don't have Isochron Scepter in the deck is because it draws hate. View from Above basically has Isochron Scepter built in as it comes back to your hand as long as you control a white permanent. Monastery Mentor and Noyan Dar both love View from Above. It can be added to the deck for sure and would likely work well but my meta has a lot of artifact removal and for that reason I did not include it.

I have many cards to propose to you. One of the best out there though is Mirrorweave . Instant removal for all your opponents' creatures !

February 21, 2019 6:55 p.m.

the_unseen89 says... #12

ROUROU I've thought about Mirrorweave before. It can at least save me from a lethal swing by turning everything into a land. I've also read about Contested War Zone but I don't know if I want to add it. Do you have any suggestions on combos for Mirrorweave ?

February 22, 2019 1:38 p.m.

ROUROU says... #13

the_unseen89 well, if you look carefully at noyan dar's effect, he makes the land a 0/0 elemental and then you put 3 counters on the land-creature. As soon as you cast the instant, every creature will become a copy of the 0/0 elemental. Without those counters though , they will die immediately. There are not many combos around Mirrorweave but sure as hell it's a nice card. i would also try to put in some evasion cards, like Teferi's Protection , or Pact of Negation or Force of Will , or Make a Stand etc., cause your creature base is your land base. if someone should target them, you would lose your lands. Noyan Dar is one of the hardest commanders to play around, trust me xD

I like your list. Curious to know what suggestions you have for mine... It needs an update.

They see me Roilin', I'm Shapin'...

the_unseen89 says... #16

ROUROU I do see that. I will be adding Mirrorweave to my decklist. I could use another mass creature destroy spell.

Senomar Thanks for the comment. I have worked really hard on optimizing this deck and I have had great results. Folks at my LGS are always scared to play against this deck. Although you have to think ahead a few turns but is a lot of fun to play.

Ender666666 I will go take another look at your list. I remember looking at it before and it looked great. Although we play a lot of different cards they all have their own upsides.

Phenomenal deck! I have almost all the cards and have been wondering how to build Noyan Dar for a long time.

I like the sub of Land Equilibrium for Cataclysmic Gearhulk .

Have you looked at Unsubstantiate ? It can return Part the Waterveil while on the stack prior to exile.

March 12, 2019 10:58 p.m.

Killzun says... #18

Forgot to mention that Rise from the Tides would be fun to cast prior to Part the Waterveil

Super cool!!! Guile turns opponents win conditions against them!

March 16, 2019 7:16 p.m.

Hey I have a similar deck ( here ) and was wondering what you think? You gave me some great ideas like Trade Routes , Teferi's Response , Tragic Arrogance . I'm concerned about two things for our decks: wincons and stax. Torpor Orb , Rest in Peace , Overburden , Embargo , Containment Priest , etc are removal in a sense, but control decks like to respond and be reactive instead of proactive. What's your opinion on that, and what kind of non-infinite combo wincon would be good for UB? I've been considering Redeem the Lost , Research the Deep , and Pulse of the Grid as a redundant View from Above but they seem mediocre.

Hey, a real gem in my deck has been Vanish into Memory . Have you tried it

March 17, 2019 7:58 p.m.

the_unseen89 says... #22

Killzun Thanks for the comments. I do like Unsubstantiate but I don't think it fits well with my deck. I think it takes up the slot of a spell that I want in the deck. This does absolutely work though. As for Rise from the Tides , I think that it suffers from the problem of not doing anything if there aren't spells in the GY. I personally play with folks who exile and shuffle GY's into libraries and this card will suffer from that. However, if you aren't seeing those things happening in your playgroup this card is great.

Lord_Europa thanks for the compliment! Guile is a great card. Since I do play some counterspell's it will absolutely be a bomb if it were out.

oliveoilonyaasscureshemorrhoid I took a look at your deck. Looks great. I think Noyan Dar can be built loads of ways that will work. Mine is absolutely not the end all be all. I just know that it does well and will win out of nowhere. I think the combo card you're looking for is Clockspinning . This absolutely does what you want. I have not play tested it but I know that Ender666666 has based on his deck They see me Roilin', I'm Shapin'....

Ender666666 I have not played it but my buddy does. So are you essentially just exiling one of your animated lands with Vanish into Memory to draw cards and then not discard lands since it just comes back as a land?

March 17, 2019 10:19 p.m.

Ender666666 says... #23

Barring exiling someone else's creature (preferably a TOKEN), yes, I usually use Vanish into Memory on an Awakened land, drawing a fistful of cards and then discarding none. Worst case scenario, you use it on a normal creature to dig deeper and find something you need, discarding the chaff.

A while back I suggested spiritual Asylum which was really awful because you couldn't Target your lands but have you took a look at

Tomik, Distinguished Advokist WW Legendary Creature - Human Advisor Flying

Lands on the battlefield and land cards in graveyards can't be the targets of spells or abilities your opponents control.

Your opponents can't play land cards from graveyards

It's a recently spoiled card for this new set coming.

Homelessguy I have seen it! Auto include :) I am very excited to add it. It will be a fantastic addition. I have to figure out what I want to cut now. The new land is a bit to mana intensive though so it likely won't make the cut.
