ANNOUNCEMENT: Mangara —June 4, 2020

Due to Mangara being spoiled I will most likely retire this deck and make him due to being a card draw engine.

Spear of Heliod is a nice Enchantment/Artifact that fits the theme of the deck well. I imagine Heliod using a sun laser to zap creatures that attack you. It's also nice with lower power white creatures, and I think is reasonably priced for its ability.

Spear was in the list at one point, however it ended up getting axed when i wanted to add some spicier tech. though I have been temped to re-add it since.

If board whipes are an issue, run whites only counter sell, Lapse of Certainty . It may give it back to them but it will at least stall so you can try to take them out

White has more than lapse. But as much as I love mana tithe, white's counters are pretty trash sadly

Hi nice deck you built here! I too have a Heliod deck although I went a different route to yours with bigger creatures and less of a go wide strategy (mainly to combat pillow fort players). I have included both walking ballista and Triskelion in mine but only play them for the win if i am up against stronger decks (sometimes) or there is a dick player in the group (rarely lol). Here is my list. heliod-sun-crowned-edh/ Definitely a few cards i want to add from ikoria.. The Ozilik ofr one and Mothra seems a must have for mono white! Also the new card that you can cast for free to give your team indestuctable!

Thank you! The problem at this stage of the game is the deck is so tight that it is hard to find cuts for new cards but I am going to try out the moth soon and see how it goes!

Have you considered Mikaeus, the Lunarch? While you have plenty of 1-drops for Ranger of Eos and friends, he's yet another search target. Each +1/+1 counter Heliod gives him can be a +1/+1 counter for your entire team.

Also, how about Arch of Orazca? White cannot have too much card draw, and ascending should be pretty easy for you. Steelshaper's Gift can also be another tutor to find Skullclamp early on.

I might have to test Mike. However arch is actually really REALLY bad. A general rule of thumb is to pay at most 2 mana per card drawn. Also steelshapers would be good if I ran more than 3 equipment. But sadly if I ran it just to tutor clamp then it might often be a dead draw. Because I either don't have the fodder to clamp or its already in my hand.

Arch of Orazca is just a mana sink like Castle Ardenvale and a utility land like Reliquary Tower. There's literally no downside to run it unless you'd rather play a Plains I guess, but that's up to you.

Also, if you like Hero of Bladehold, then you'll love Leonin Warleader, who makes tokens with lifelink.

Fun deck! Who says White can't be competitive? :D I've built a Tiny Leader version of this which is incredibly similar to this, and I honestly think it's the highest-power deck I've got - it regularly wins on T3/4, and that's with opponent interaction!

(Yes, some people still play TL. My playgroup find that it's just the right length to get a game in at work over lunch!)

Would highly recommend Oketra's Monument and Sun Droplet for the deck - having an extra token alongside your creatures double all the 'ETB gain 1' triggers, and Sun droplet heavily decentivises your enemies from swinging at you since if gives you 4 free life-gain triggers around the board. You mentioned going wide - I was going to suggest Mikaeus, the Lunarch, but I see that you've already thought about that above :) Mike's not super great in the deck, but he's a good lad to turn 1x +1/+1 into >5x +1/+1s.

Other cards that might be worth considering are Shinewend (repeatable card-free removal ftw!) and Heliod's Intervention (I personally like it more than Return to Dust since you have flexibility, even if it destroys instead of exiles). Ashes of the Abhorrent was on my Maybeboard for the anti-graveyard and board-wipe utility, though I decided against it in the end. Perhaps it might fit in the EDH version of the deck?

Hope some of those suggestions are of help. Let's make White great again! (Hold up, that came out wrong. What do you mean that it's already gone to press? STOP THAT PRINTER!)

TCK_Green those are sweet suggestions

Looks good! These may interest you: Scrapyard Recombiner (finds ballista), Mindless Automaton, Crystalline Crawler, Palace Jailer (this card is woefully underplayed. Jailer is interesting because you can flicker/reanimate it to stack the effect, exiling multiple creatures until you lose monarchy. and it provides card draw in white!), Cauldron of Souls, Luminous Broodmoth, Cradle of Vitality, Sunbond, Angelic Accord, Regna, the Redeemer, Bonders' Enclave, Throne of the High City, Tome of Legends, Bonder's Ornament, Ajani's Welcome, Karn's Bastion

Oh also Endless Horizons could be good. Makes your future draws better and ensures you always drop a land for turn.
