Here are the cards that made the first cut for the Edric EDH Deck I'm building will be finished soon...

-2 Silverblade Paladin, +2 Brion Stoutarm *oversized* for getting the last bit of damage through and making use of creatures before they are removed
Updates
tamaness, 11 years ago
The deck was severely lacking in some areas. Namely production of colored mana and spot removal. Added consistent upkeep + token generators, a second source of haste, and some more ways to get mana out of my dudes. Cut some thallids, some lands that weren't doing anything for me, extraplanar lens (as I don't run a lot of basics here), and some other slow token generation. Hope it works!
Less white
Levon777, 11 years ago
I took out the Mojority of white in the deck, and took out Plains entirely and added in some shock lands to make up the splash in white to keep in Ghostly Prison sense Propaganda is unfortunatly not Modern legal.
It seems to run much more smoothly now that It doesn't have as much "dead draw" due to not having to worry so much about the 3 colors.

M15 coming!
DanteSSS333, 11 years ago
M15 will change my deck to become even better! Tendo Ice Bridge will be replaced with Sliver Hive. And we yet have to see about the 5 uncommon and the one mythic rare Sliver :D
Foils
TehRazorBack, 11 years ago
Some foils arrived today, namely Mosswort Bridge and Asceticism. Cause why spend money on new/better cards, right? Should have some more foils arriving in the next few days.

- Domri Rade. Replacing Crop Rotation. Gonna give Domri another tryout in the deck.
- Foil Mirari's Wake.
- Iroas, God of Victory *list*. Replacing Steel Hellkite. I still like Steel Hellkite as removal, however it's the most finiky removal in the deck. So Iroas gets a tryout.
Sideboard performs much better
Haemogoblin, 11 years ago
Working on the side has been a pleasure the last few days, the deck really holds its own and is fun to play regardless :)
Trying to find space for Kessig Wolf Run, I wanted to include Crowned Ceratok or Bramblewood Paragon for trample but the cmc is a little awkward
Buh-bye, Athreos.
JMat27, 11 years ago
Athreos is out. I love the card. It's a really cool card. It doesn't work that well in the deck. While it has some synergy in theory, in practice opponents typically just give you back your one-drops, which really need to hit the graveyard to be used to their full potential. The last Athreos was replaced by the return of the third Xathrid Necromancer, a decision with which I'm quite pleased so far.
I've also moved two Hero's Downfall to the sideboard and replaced them with two Ultimate Price. With 2 Banishing Light in the main, we are still quite capable of dealing with planeswalkers in game 1, and they can easily be returned to the main deck when dealing with Azorius Control or Jund Midrange. The vast majority of creatures that we need to be able to deal with can be hit by Ultimate Price. In fact, the only creatures played frequently in Standard that don't meet the mono-colored criteria are Ghor-Clan Rampager (which hardly ever hits the battlefield and Satyr tokens from Xenagos. Bringing in cheaper removal not only lowers the curve - which is pretty vital given that we're only running 23 land (and GOOD GOD there is so much CMC 3) - but it also helps keep the battlefield clear earlier in the game, which helps get the most value out of the ten 2/1 dorks in the deck by getting in as much early damage as possible.
Swappin' the Ramp
enpc, 11 years ago
Removed Search for Tomorrow and Rampant Growth for Yavimaya Elder and Yavimaya Granger. It'll be interestin gto see how they go. Elder is not technically ramp but I am willing to overlook it since he can draw cards. Also, super psyched to put a Soul of New Phyrexia in the deck. I know its not on theme as much but elesh norn in a batle suit looks fun.
Also swapped Bow of Nylea and Wrath of God out for Fauna Shaman and Rout.
EDIT: swapped Rampant Growth back in. Yavimaya Elder feels far too slow.
Dancing with Myself

Focuses on stalling my opponents board while hard drawing through my deck to get Thassa out and whittle them down with un-blockables.

After countless rounds of playtesting versus all types of EDH archetypes, I made a few changes: - -Sylvan Messenger + Garruk, Caller of Beasts - -Eldrazi Monument + Crop Rotation - -Seedborn Muse + Chord of Calling - -Civic Wayfinder + Wood Elves - -Reliquary Tower + Winding Canyon - -Wirewood Herald + Elvish Guidance These decisions came from either determining the old cards were strictly worse than others in most situations, or personally realizing the combo/strategy potential of the new. Eldrazi Monument was by the far the ugly duckling of my build for a few months, only once in a blue moon coming to my aid. Otherwise, the flipside to its ability always left me making unwanted decisions on what to sac. In its place I put in crop rotation, because I'm always happy to get to either Nykthos or Cradle. Seedborn Muse only aided in my defense, not really offense. At 5CMC, I started disliking it more and more as games and matches would progress. Chord of calling seemed most fitting a replacement. At instant speed being able to utilize my toolbox is an immeasurable gain. Civic Wayfinder for Wood Elves. Pretty self-explanatory. One is strictly better than the other. Just never got around to making the switch until I got a hold of Wood Elves. Reliquary Tower for Winding Canyons. Personal preference. Flash potential instead of unlimited hand size. Wirewood Herald for Elvish Guidance. Herald did me nothing, no one would block it and I don't have a sac outlet for it. Elvish Guidance plays really well into arbor elf with or without Wirewood Symbiote. All around a decent enchantment in the 3CMC slot.

Removed Ur-Golem's Eye for Mana Vault, Illusionist's Bracers (too clunky) for Scorched Ruins, and Mycosynth Golem for Blightsteel Colossus.
