With further testing, I've realized it's easier for me than I thought to generate a decent amount of mana for a worthwhile Blue Sun's Zenith, which generally leads to an instant win.
Mainboard: +1 Blue Sun's Zenith -1 Brain Freeze
I have also done away with 4x Spell Pierce as my counters. With Delver and Snapcaster decks gaining popularity, I need more hard counters since they'll run Islands.
Mainboard: +2 Counterspell +1 Rewind -3 Spell Pierce

Switched out Invisible Stalker for Think Twice to allow more draw. This allowed me to (theoretically) run less creatures. After consideration, Furnace Scamp was a great card but requires a direct hit to be worth it, so I took it out to rotate Invisible Stalker back in. I'm now considering placements for Curse of the Pierced Heart and Curse of Stalked Prey. Any comments/ideas are appreciated.Ok, Let's Try it Like This.

The Decklist Has been updated. Any thoughts?
Note: Victim of Night is in the Sideboard for now, until i see something more appropriate. Thinking of Smallpox for a little chaotic fun.

should've started over as the original design I still think made a pretty good deck. this is different and more fun, i think its getting pretty closeAldernon, 13 years ago
I found the En-Kor creatures intriguing and attempted a deck built around those creatures.
The main "kill-shot" is the Auriok Salvagers,Lion's Eye Diamond, and Magma Mine combination.
I'm sure this one wouldn't do well in today's world of tournaments, but it's fun for casual play. Among our regular gaming friends, it's only comes out once every couple months due to it's frustration factor for the other players and it's propensity to win more often than not. Of course, once you've seen the combo fire, it's the same every other time and does get a little "old".

-1 Artillerize, -3 Mogg Fanatic, +1 Voracious Dragon, +2 Goblin Wardriver, +1 Skirk Prospector I really wish I could take out the last Mogg Fanatic for another Kuldotha Rebirth but I don't have another yet. I have play tested this deck and it wins about 2/3 the time, it doesn't do well against control decks or really anything with a couple counter spells. Any suggestions?draw tests

I tested the draws on this deck and found that there was too much proliferate and too little poisoning to be done. I was really relying too much on an early Blighted Agent for some early poison that I could proliferate. Any low mana cost blue infect cards would be really helpful.Manzander, 13 years ago
*Edit, the Fireslinger/Goblin Grenade/Brimstone Volley combo is 4 mana. My mistake. The Quickening, pt. 1

Taking into account the excellent feedback I've received, coupled with as much playtesting as I could do, I've removed Grimoire of the Dead and Army of the Damned. They are cool cards and they have really interesting possibilities... in games that go into seven or eight turns, with lucky draws. The deck was middle-heavy, as I've found that many of the "cooler" zombie cards are in the 4-5 mana cost region. A deck shouldn't suffer that much when you can only get three lands out.
I added in a couple more lands, took Cemetery Reaper up to a full playset, added an Unbreathing Horde and then just bolstered my supply of other cards already in the deck: Endless Ranks of the Dead, Ghoulcaller's Chant, and Go for the Throat. The deck should perform faster and more effectively with more theme-centric cards and a greatly eased mana curve.
Part 2 of The Quickening will come in the form of Heartless Summoning. I feel this will really take the deck to a whole new level, freeing up a lot of mana for these cool enchantments and allowing me to go more on the offensive instead of worrying about surviving long enough to get my engine running. At time of writing, I'm about to go to sea for 75 days, but as always I'm looking forward to the journey of completing a deck that really is an endless horde of zombies. It has been a lot of fun to play so far and I'm hoping Innistrad will only make it better.
Thanks for your feedback, please keep it coming!

Cut Sorin Markov because he's terrible, brought Consume Spirit back onto the mainboard, and retooled the sideboard to handle a wider array of threats.Esper Control
kythegent, 13 years ago
I playtested against Esper Control. He went down to 16 cards. I went down to 13. He was at 13 life, I was at 4. He had 3 O-Rings out. 2 for Burning Vengeance, 1 for a Liliana. I had a Sun Titan, Liliana, and 2 Snapcasters on the board before he left the game. He could have topdecked a WSZ and ended the game, he did have an Unburial Rites to bring back a Phantasmal Image of my Sun, but I would have Geistflamed him immediately. I'm assuming he'd bring back Liliana to cancel mine, but I was two turns away. I'm definitely not saying this deck is perfect. O-Ring may need to go in this, but it has potential.spinspinspin, 13 years ago
Entirely different deck since I first posted it.urges, 13 years ago
Seething Song might be one solution to my problem of a lack of mana-searching cards. Manabarbs seems fun to get them much lower quickly and throw out, plus considering that my mana cost per damage to them is pretty sexy make it more alluring... Any thoughts? I would probably end up getting rid of a few goblins or low damage sorcery. Also looking at Magma Jet...
Oooh, I found Chain Lightning...might throw that in there instead of Shock. Also, Ball Lightning, Rift Bolt (using the suspend, of course...), and Grim Lavamancer are all looking fun right about now...
Shrine of Burning Rage might go in as well...
