Cabal Coffers is disgusting in EDH. Especially with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth .

card:Gaea's Cradle is another good one.

Bojuka Bog for graveyard hate.

Reliquary Tower is good, although I'm not sure if it deserves top 10.

i would not place Reliquary Tower anywhere near the lands on this thread yet ive seen it mentioned several times on this site. if someone has examples of why its playable, im willing to consider ive missed something

To be honest, I see Reliquary Tower show up more in EDH than any other non-basic land. At worse, it's a land that produces colorless mana. At best, it lets you keep all those cards you drew with Necropotence , Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur , or Consecrated Sphinx .

It's not nearly as useful as any of the lands previously mentioned, but why not include it if you're planning on drawing a large number of cards?

There should be a list for utility lands and for mana producing lands. But most cards mentioned here could make a top 10-20 list.

I would put all lands able to produce multiple mana first. Craddle, cabal coffer, the new devotion land

I don't think this was worth reviving a thread from over a year and a half ago.

  1. Command Tower because mana curve.
  2. Maze of Ith to stop Voltron decks and Commander Damage.
  3. Karakas for the trolling of one person's commander.
  4. Vesuva because you need more Command Towers.
  5. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth because of combos with other cards and Swampwalk.
  6. Shock Lands - for example Temple Garden . Because you can never have too much mana curve.
  7. Fetch Lands - i.e Arid Mesa After all who doesn't like mana curve?
  8. Dual Lands - Like Badlands or to be more reasonable Dragonskull Summit which means once again mana curve.
  9. Reliquary Tower because a lot of EDH decks like to draw cards.
  10. Tectonic Edge and Ghost Quarter to get rid of pesky nonbasic lands that our opponents control or let's say we're running Dimir and we have too many Islands, we can destroy one and get a swamp so in other words.......mana curve. Really bad mana curve,

@NoctisSemper: Karakas is very, very banned in EDH.

I also disagree with some of the choices on your list. ABUR duals are strictly better than shocks. Strip Mine easily beats Tectonic Edge and Ghost Quarter . So does Wasteland .

Vesuva is not useful in all decks; same with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth .

Also, a mana curve is the pattern of CMCs across your cards, not your ability to produce mana at any given time.

@Epochalyptik: I did not realize Karakas is banned in EDH but I can see why. It would be pretty hysterical if it wasn't. As far as the ABUR lands VS Shock Lands, what I was trying to say in my comment wasn't that shock lands. The reason they're below the Shock Lands is because of how expensive they are. I don't have the money to just buy a Badlands but I can afford a Blood Crypt . I totally forgot about Strip Mine and Wasteland and they are much better than the lands I mentioned. Personally, I find Vesuva to always help me out whether it's copying my Command Tower or my Maze of Ith . And I have to admit Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is one of my all time favorite cards and I normally play black so I put it up there just for my own personal preference but overall it shouldn't be used in every EDH deck so that's my fault. Also I thought mana curve was putting lands into your deck to help cast your spells at a given time but obviously I was wrong. So what I meant to say instead of mana curve is putting lands into a deck that will give you better odds of having the appropriate mana on the field at a given time for the cards in your deck.

Cabal Coffers is really good for black.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is amazing for mono colored devotion. not great in multi colored unless you have half and half creatures like Slippery Boggle!
