The Best Kind of Counter [budget] (Modern MTG Deck)

Spray your opponents creatures with counters.
One single counter on a creature will mean pascifism (Kulrath Knight) , death ( Crumbling Ashes ) and/or gain control of creature ( Necroskitter ).
Skinrender , Fume Spitter , Black Sun's Zenith and Glistening Oil are some of the ways to get -1/-1 counters out. Some creatures have wither, so blocking once will be enough to doom that creature. Indestructible and regenerate wont help much.
Geralf's Messenger benefits hugely from all the ways to give him a -1/-1 counter, making him come back again and again.
Once you have control, swing with your own and your opponents creatures.

SideBoard: For control match-ups bring in Duress. To deal with planeswalkers bring in Vampire Hexmage and/or Pithing Needle. Against creature-less decks bring in Gray Merchant of Asphodel as an alternate win-con.

COMBOS

Black Sun's Zenith + Necroskitter Makes all your opponent's creatures that died yours, even if you kill Necroskitter.

Necroskitter + Skinrender Steal a creature

Crumbling Ashes + Glistening Oil Recursive kill spell for 2 mana

Crumbling Ashes + Midnight Banshee Kill any creature next turn

Carnifex Demon + Glistening Oil 6/6 infect flyer that never runs out of -1/-1 counters

Fume Spitter + Kulrath Knight Pascifism

Fume Spitter + Geralf's Messenger Gives undying back to Geralf

Crumbling Ashes + Geralf's Messenger + Glistening Oil 2 damage for 2 mana each turn

I want to improve the deck as much as possible (within the -1/-1 theme) so I would greatly appreciate any advice!

Doing some updates after having left this deck alone for a year:

Realized I need more card draw and found a cool card that fits perfect in this deck: Glistening Oil

Added

+4 Glistening Oil Recursive Scar that can kill all by itself. Divides opponents damage into infect and non-infect

+4 Sign in Blood card draw

+1 Carnifex Demon a winner that is brutal with Glistening Oil

+2 Geralf's Messenger Undying combos nicely with -1/-1 counters

+2 Skinrender Awesome guy

+2 Dismember Want a bit more removal

+1 Phyrexian Arena more card draw
