With the addition of
Generator Servant
a fast ramp deck becomes feasible. You play Servant /
Satyr Hedonist
on turn 2 and on turn 3 you drop 5-mana Monsters. Servant is clearly better than the Hedonist, but you can't play 8. Alternatively, with a Elvish Mystic in your starting hand, you can drop a 6-mana Monster. Now, most of the Monsters have some kind of evasion or bring utility.
Sideboard monsters:
Now, the weak point of this deck is a removal on turn 3 by our opponent. The most common method at that point is a Detention Sphere or
Banishing Light
or something similar. Therefore, the deck also harbours enchantment removal. Hard removals like Hero's Downfall are hard to answer if you are untapped in turn 3, which happens almost all the time. So, there is some clear weakness. For late game, you may need to refill your hand, hence some card draw spells.
Strategies against some deck of current meta:
RW Burn: Drop Ruric Thar, the Unbowed to cockblock the opponent. Our creatures won't die that easily just from Burn, so if you don't have a Ruric Thar, just race the opponent.
Other Monsters: The classic GR/Jund/Naya Monster decks may be more consistent but a bit slower. Also, most Monster decks rely on Enchantment Creatures like Courser of Kruphix and Eidolon of Blossoms for card advantage. However, that leaves them vulnurable to cards like
Back to Nature
.
Mono Black: This will be our hardest Matchup, due to the amount of hard removals in our opponent's deck. It may be good to use the Sire Of Insanity on turn 3.
Control: Control players will have a hard time without immediate answers.
