Isochron Scepter + Silence . Why you no do this? Then Mana Tithe potentially, and then Holy Day for foggy days wth Isochron Scepter . I'm actually tempted to use this combo for esper control.

Should I cut some land to fit the Holy Day s in?

I wanted to use Isochron Scepter but I always find it to be slow. It's getting tested though.

I think you can do to remove 1x of each of the following: Wall of Omens , Wrath of God and Path to Exile .

I kicked this deck's ass with my Delver deck...more testing is needed now.

Getting that Isochron Scepter + Silence combo is imperative. You won against my Kor Legions deck because of it. However it is susceptible against instant removal, and I think you would do well to go esper combo control because of the transmute cards available and the counterspells available.

There's got to be a way to play mono-white control. I'll force it for awhile because I'm stubborn...

What about ... Fiend Hunter for more creature control, and Grand Abolisher to use against counterspells? Then Aven Mindcensor against fetches and pod with Leyline of Sanctity against discard , burn, storm and combo. Faith's Shield , Leonin Abunas and Privileged Position to protect your permanents. Linvala, Keeper of Silence , Nevermore , Trinisphere , Lodestone Golem and Suppression Field all come to mind as white meta hate forms.

Femme_Fatale I'll add everything to the maybeboard for now and see how it fits.

martindeninno New Benalia 's scry could be useful, I'll keep it in mind and see how my curve looks when I'm done.

Alright, bare with me, but I'm feeling kind of slow today. How exactly is Altar of the Brood + Leonin Relic-Warder + Phyrexian Metamorph making infinite EtB triggers. My first thought was to get Phyrexian Metamorph to copy the Warder but the Warders not a.... wait, you have the Phyrexian Metamorph target itself, yes? Okay A) Are you sure that works that way with the Leonin's old banishing ability and B) you should write that down at the top under the combo.

MindAblaze says... #11

You're right. Metamorph targets itself and because the leaves the battlefield ability doesnt trigger until the enters the battlefield ability resolves it is never an issue.

...unless I Cloudshift it while the ability is on the stack...

October 16, 2014 3:12 p.m.

Zakki_AtG says... #12

Still you should write that up in the description about the combo.

Also, you couldn't do that forever with the Cloudshift because the Metamorph would be returned due to Cloudshift's effect. That would only work if you Cloudshifted it in response to it targeting something else. then that something else would be permanently exiled. However you can not permanently banish Metamorph with its own ability.

Yup, that's what I meant... Not the best plan to Cloudshift your own combo piece mid-combo.

People don't read descriptions.

People really don't read descriptions. I put them there and I still get a comments saying "Insert card here" or "how does this work?" or "why aren't you using x staple?" even though I have clearly stated the entire purpose and function of the deck, as well with all the updates I made to it and the cards I listed that I won't use.

I have descriptions for the decks that I plan to build/have built. For example The Loyal Legions of Thune has the combo spelled out there. I have actually considered putting Altar of the Brood in that deck for some redundancy in infinite combos.

@ Zakki_AtG

There...a bit of a better description, and a deck that looks different but the same.

C'mon man, where's your Mox Sapphire s, Mox Jet s, Time Walk s, Black Lotus ', and Ancestral Recall s?

because i have moxes and lotuses falling out of my behind...

I suppose casual is a more appropriate format name.

Hey man, great deck, I love the combos. But couldn't this be made Modern legal by removing the 1x Skullclamp and the Artifact Lands? I get that Clamp is a total boss, especially with infinite 1/1 tokens, and that arty lands are fun with the Elder. But as Femme Fatale so eloquently pointed out, without all those Vintage staples this may be hard to contend. You're planning to go infinite life anyway, so the artifact lands aren't really doing anything for you, unless you're tutoring for them with Tez (doubtful) or saccing them to Foundry (possibly?). Anyway, just a thought, because I think this could be really good in Modern.

I updated it to Casual because I don't ever plan to play this anywhere but the kitchen table. Competitive Vintage is, to quote Epoch, a bastard format, and I couldn't be that guy (or pay that kind of money...)

I am intrigued by potentially making this Modern, although I lose a lot of power since Skullclamp , Sword of the Meek and the artifact lands are all banned. It almost makes it pointless by then.

October 23, 2014 7:36 p.m.

Oh, I didn't know the Sword was banned in Modern too. That may not work out so well then lol.
