Went 4-1 tonight and got 3rd place overall. I'll nutshell the rounds, but went a little something like this...

Round 1: 2-1 Against Jund Monsters

Don't remember too much from this round. Game 1 he couldn't keep up with enchanted scout swings early on. Game 2 I kept a mediocre hand and ended up losing a Fleecemane Lion to Doom Blade early on. Then he got rolling with Xenagos, the Reveler and such. Game 3 went like the first.

Dem Gladecover Scout beats, tho.

Round 2: 0-2 against Esper Midrange

Game 1 was a painful loss as I had him at 2 life when I drew 4 lands in a row as he dropped Archangel of Thune, Obzedat, Ghost Council, and bloodbaron-of-vizkopa in succession. Darn. Game 2 I don't remember except I lost...

Round 3: 2-1 against Esper Control

Lost to this guy with the same deck matchup a couple of weeks ago in round 5, both playing for a 4-1 record. Tonight game 1 went well for me with a Fleecemane Lion, Alpha Authority, and 2x Ethereal Armor. Good times. Game 2 I ended up keeping a slow hand (doh) and gave him too much time to get rolling. Game 3 was something similar to the first but with a Gladecover Scout and Witchstalker. Also, Glare of Heresy kept Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Detention Sphere outta the way. Kerchow!

Round 4: 2-1 against Mono-black

Pretty sure he was running devotion, but never saw it happen. Pack Rat, Nightveil Spectre?, and Desecration Demon in the lineup. Game 1 I came out swinging with the usual. Game 2 I lost to the card-stealing sonuvah- Spectre and his demon friend. Game 3 kept me on my toes: faced down a double threat from two demons, Lifebane Zombie, a Spectre and a couple pack rats. But nothing a little Boon Satyr flash and Selesnya Charm exile can't help with. Won with a Witchstalker packin' Madcap Skills and a Boros Charm doublestrike. Tasty.

Round 5: 2-1 against Bant Somethin'

This guy had lost to one of the top two guys the round before (Boros burn, methinks). Top two decided to draw, so we knew we were playing for third. Game 1 (say it with me now) was a Gladecover Scout doin' work. Dirty shenanigan enchanted work. Game 2 fueled by Courser of Kruphix and a Sylvan Caryatid, Kiora, the Crashing Wave, Jace, Architect of Thought, and Elspeth, Sun's Champion couldn't be stopped in time. Game 3 I had a good ol' time with my hexproof friends. Once again, Glare of Heresy kept the nasty control staples at bay.

All in all a really fun night and my best record and playing ever! Got a promo Banisher Priest and 3rd place with some store credit. Bought me a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, the first issue of Serenity, Leaves on the Wind and a Theros booster. Shiny.
