How does this deck work?

Most of you probably know this, since Storm has been around since the birth of Modern, but Storm is a type of deck which aims to cast a lot of spells and draw a lot of cards in one turn, then win all at once with either Grapeshot or Empty the Warrens with help from Goblin Electromancer, Pyromancer Ascension, and/or Past in Flames.

Why play Storm?

  1. There are pretty much no bad matchups, as the deck can win at any time out of nowhere.

  2. Once we start going off, it's extremely hard to stop. 99.9% of counterspells don't work against Grapeshot and Empty the Warrens.

  3. This was one of the first great decks of Modern, and it will always be around. Wizards has dropped the banhammer on this deck repeatedly, and it has always sprung back, holding onto its tier 1.5 status.

Finally, a moment of silence for those who have fallen to the banhammer...
