A few years ago, when I first played Magic, I built a shadowborn apostles deck in modern. When I returned to playing I got into commander, and when I saw the command zone video with Athreos as a shadowborn apostle commander I decided to build a similar deck. Now with a bit of time since I built that deck, I have decided to instead switch the Commander to Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, because I believe it adds consistency to the deck that Athreos does not have.

My only comment is that if you are to build this on MTGO, I would add in Thrumming Stone, Crypt Ghast, and Extraplanar Lens, because they become budget on MTGO, while being a bit too expensive in paper.
