Sideboard

Alot of people have told me that Mill was not a viable deck in Modern because it doesn't affect the board state, because it was weak against cards that shuffle the grave back into the library.

Well those guys can suck it when they are facing down a flying spaghetti monster for 2 land. No tron assembly required.

Mill get a bad rap for being considered weak in the win condition department. Things can easily go bad when graveyard shuffle effects are in play and we are pretty much milling ourselves out instead of our opponent. After some testing I have found that this deck has more win cons now than it did previously with the inclusion of Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.

Win Cons

1) Smack face with a flying 15/15

2) Mill them out

3)Exile all their threats

It shuffles our spells back and allows you to play your mill again cards and with shenanigans with cards like Breaking/Entering and Shelldock Isle we can cast the flying 15/15 for free and get his extra turn trigger to win if he was cast from Shelldock Isle or you can remove the threats in our opponents deck one by one with Surgical Extraction, Path to Exile and Crypt Incursion in a very grindy match up.

There are cards that can shut down the deck. Leyline of Sanctity or other player hexproof effects shuts down most of the deck since it actively targets your opponent. However there is a way around this. Play the anti-game.

Get as many Mesmeric Orbs in play and hide Breaking/Entering with Shelldock Isle, and tap out all available mana until Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is milled on your board, and take it with Entering and smack face. Or go for the same play but hide Emrakul, the Aeons Torn with Shelldock Isle. Either way works.

Shelldock Isle does not care whether you or your opponent has twenty or less cards, as long as the requirement is met you can do the same to yourself.

Best part about it is that no one will expect a flying 15/15 in a deck that runs solely crabs with landfall. Its going to happen more than once but its an open plan in case the original mill plan goes sour.
