I had a lot of fun and some moderate success playing Azorius Monument when Oketra's Monument was Standard legal. Now that I have migrated to Pioneer (for better or for worse, I suppose), I have again built Azorius Monument and it's oddly strong and competitive! I've had a lot of fun playing this and I think it's worth a test drive if you like this sort of aggro-with-a-bit-of-control type of deck. It plays much more like a midrange deck than an aggro deck, but it still has that aggro feel. It's a lot of fun!

Oketra's Monument is pretty fun-- reduce the cost of casting white creatures and create 1/1 tokens for casting those creatures. This is pretty clearly a "go wide" aggro deck, but there is some card draw! Mentor of the Meek was a lot of fun in the deck as it allowed me to keep drawing cards to dig through the deck for the necessary pieces, answers, etc...

Charming Prince is a lot of value for . This allows us to blink the Reflector Mage or the Skyclave Apparition for a lot of great value.

Luminarch Aspirant has so much potential! This card can pump the otherwise small creatures, and is a real threat.

Mentor of the Meek is here for card draw. This card is GREAT. It's what keeps the deck going as the card draw gets to be amazing.

Reflector Mage is just a good card. Bounce a Skyclave Apparition, an opponent's creature, etc... This is really just a great card.

Selfless Spirit helps protect against board wipes that destroy all creatures. Very useful.

Skrelv, Defector Mite is a new addition. I was skeptical of adding this, but it did a very nice job protecting Spell Queller and Luminarch Aspirant. It's a solid addition to the deck.

Skyclave Apparition is a great card. Nothing more needs to be said-- it's just a great card.

Spell Queller is another very good card. Keeping mana open for this card just makes opponents question everything that they do. My advice is to just be patient.

Welcoming Vampire is probably the most useful card in the deck. Once this is out, the card draw advantage is quite real.

Still tinkering. I think Clarion Spirit might be a solid addition, but this will require some playtesting.

Clarion Spirit might be an excellent addition. It would add a 1/1 flying spirit token most of our turns, triggering Mentor of the Meek and Welcoming Vampire. The problem is that it doesn't fly or gain us any life like Elite Guardmage.

Triskaidekaphile would be HILARIOUS in this deck as we can often get to 13 cards in hand, but I just don't think it's worth a try. Still...

Faerie Impostor flies and has 2 power, and it can bounce a card like Reflector Mage, Charming Prince, or Skyclave Apparition. It might be a solid addition despite the 1 toughness (but for a casting cost of only , and it flies, so...).

I decided to pull the Militia Buglers to make room for 4x Welcoming Vampire and an additional Skyclave Apparition.

Militia Bugler allows us to look for our next threat/answer (e.g., Spell Queller) while getting a 2/3 body with vigilance onto the battlefield. Militia Bugler had its time to shine, but it is simply outclassed by other cards.

I also decided to pull Cloudblazer because it just isn't good enough for this deck in the Pioneer format.
