This is pretty good! I like it a lot. I am making a Steampunk deck myself and this is giving me a good idea. I am a little surprised that you do not have a counterspell

How is this not called "Going For a JhoiRide??"

Sweet deck though, never thought about vehicles for the historic triggers.

nickb3k - Yeah, maybe I should change the deck name!

Thanks for the upvote!

Have you thought about Firebrand Archer? It puts in a lot of work in Jhoira decks. I'd take out a higher-cost creature or one that doesn't have great synergy, like Scuttling Doom Engine or Nin, the Pain Artist.

NoSoyYucateco - I'll look for that card in my collection. Thanks!

Glad you like it. It is one of my favorite cards, but I don't think it has gotten enough love. Certainly not like Guttersnipe.

I think you can also swap out two lands for some mana rocks. Sol Ring is the obvious choice, but I like other low-cost ones like Mind Stone, Fellwar Stone and Coldsteel Heart. Or even Sky Diamond, Fire Diamond or Izzet Signet. These can all help you get Jhoira out on turn 3 so she can start doing her thing. I'd rather see any of these over Hedron Archive too, since it costs so much in comparison.

Just swapped out seven cards for one's I think would better suit the deck.

Thank you NoSoyYucateco!

Have you thought about putting in a Panharmonicon to double your Enter-The-Battlefield effects that so many of your cards have?

Waylayer - That would be an awesome addition! I'll have to go to a LGS for that one.

Thanks!

I am only seeing 8 or 9 cards that would benefit from Panharmonicon. I don't think that's worth the slot in the deck or the 4 mana investment. I would rather see the deck have some more answers for opponents' cards. Mizzium Mortars, Cyclonic Rift and Wash Out are great for clearing away blockers for your attacks.

Mox Amber could be of interest. After playing Jhoira, you can just slap this bad boi on the battlefield, draw a card and get one mana back.

NoSoyYucateco Isn't Panharmonicon good, because it lets you draw two cards instead of one, when Jhoira is on the battlefield and another artifact enters the battlefield?

NoSoyYucateco no it isn't, sine Jhoira's ability triggers on "casting" a historic spell, not an historic card "entering the battlefield". There are a few good cards it interacts with though, like Reckless Fireweaver, but imo it's not worth running it if your deck is not built around it.

HARDsofty This is a nice idea for a deck, I like the vehicle theme. There are a few tweaks I would make without changing the theme of the deck: I think you could run less than 38 lands. The amount of cards you draw with Jhoira should guarantee you a land drop every turn. Also, I would consider cutting Mind's Eye, since you want to spend your mana during your turn, and drawing cards that way. Also, I would include Thopter Engineer, since giving all your vehicles haste is insane ;-) I would cut Ghirapur Gearcrafter for it.

I would also consider cutting both Implement of Combustion and Implement of Examination. They are either expensive, or basically don't do anything. If you are playing them for the card draw, consider instead playing spell bombs, or Chromatic Star/Sphere, since they also offer you utility/fixing/draw.

As for the vehicles, is there a reason you are not playing Aethersphere Harvester, Heart of Kiran, Skysovereign, Consul Flagship or even Cultivator's Caravan? They are a lot stronger than Irontread Crusher, Ovalchase Dragster, Sky Skiff and Renegade Freighter.

I made Jhoira deck as well. It has a lot more smaller artifacts and is buid around casting a lot of cheap efficient stuff, which is clearly not your strategy ;-) but if you want some inspiration, take a look at it.

Might add some coin flipping to this deck. I got Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom and Okaun, Eye of Chaos from a pack of Battlebond.

Well it never hurts adding Padeem, Consul of Innovation to a deck like this! It is a very cheap powerhouse.

Tezzeret the Seeker : Good way to tutor cards (+ free artifact lands tutor)

Academy Ruins: Great land, but pricy. (Fits great in any artifact deck)

Panharmonicon: Like others have suggested, since you have quite a few ETB triggers.

Hateflayercould be a rather silly win con if you have a field of vehicles to tap/untap it to.

depending on how many vehicles you make into creatures per turn, maybe Throne of the God-Pharaoh

fun build!
