Anti-Slivers / Lantern Control / Combo Mill

Casual* Control Mill Sliver

Saljen

Is your friend's Sliver deck getting you down? Does more than one person play Slivers in your play group? Are you tired of being swarmed by these shapeshifting little bastards? Well NO MORE!

The majority of our slivers are 1 CMC, and the majority of the ones that do have abilities only give them to our side of the battlefield. The idea of the deck is to drop Dormant Sliver to shut down Slivers from attacking and for everybody to draw a card every time they play a Sliver. Then, since the majority of our Slivers are 1 CMC, we just dump our hand and draw a card for each Sliver we play, letting us swarm the field with 1/1 Slivers. Since this is an anti-Sliver deck, our opponents Sliver abilities will stack on our swarm of 1/1 Slivers making them just as formidable as our opponents army, but much wider since ours are so much cheaper than the Slivers that our opponents are playing. Homing Sliver is one of our cards that also benefit our opponents, but we really don't care because it's just there to get a Dormant Sliver then a Sliver Hivelord into play. Once those are there, you're just going to start chaining one 1 CMC Sliver after another. If you do decide that you want to swing with your Sliver swarm, Mindlash Sliver will let us sacrifice our Dormant Slivers to swing whenever we feel comfortable. Mindslash also just lets us sacrifice our 1 CMC Slivers to force everybody to discard, to annoy those Dirty Slivers players even more. This is especially good after we've dumped all the Slivers from our hand and are just left with lands.

But the Sliver hate doesn't stop there! We have a little two card combo that both gives us a non-combat based win-condition and lets us annoy the hell out of our dirty Sliver playing opponents! The combo is Screeching Sliver + Lantern of Insight. Screeching Sliver alone gives us a slow way to mill out our opponents, combined with the extra draw we're forcing with Dormant Sliver; mill is our primary win-condition. Lantern of Insight comes into play well before we're ready to win. If we get both of these cards into play at the same time, we can control what cards our opponents draw each turn. If you see an answer to what we're doing or a Sliver ability you don't want to deal with? Tap a Sliver to put it in their graveyard. Keep all the most annoying answers your opponents could possibly have safely tucked away in the graveyard while you storm out a 1 CMC Sliver army. Altar of the Brood makes it so this isn't just an anti-Sliver deck. It turns our library control into a straight-up mill win-condition.

Homing Sliver gives us access to our full toolbox of Slivers. We can throw down Quick Sliver to up our control game and do everything at instant speed. We can grab Venom Sliver if we've got Striking Sliver in play for the ultimate combat defense. Venom Sliver also combos with Thorncaster Sliver sliver to let us basically wipe the board of our opponents creatures when we swing. Sliver Hivelord give us some resilience against removal. Sliver Legion lets us swing for the win if we've got a critical mass of other Slivers in play. Harmonic Sliver gives us a main-board answer for artifacts and enchantments. siphon sliver lets us raise our life total for the long games.
