Aid the Fallen

Sorcery

Choose one or both —

  • Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
  • Return target planeswalker card from your graveyard to your hand.

When in doubt, use four copies of the cards you most want to use. With everything at 1x and 2x, it won't be especially consistent or reliable. A rough guideline is

  • four copies of cards you want to see more than once every game, or are essential to your deck's strategy

  • three copies of cards of cards you want to see most games, or every game but not more than once

  • two copies of cards that are useful, but not essential, or are basically extra copies of your 4x cards

  • one copy of cards that are only needed sometimes to cover a gap

Also, look for ways to improves options and/or efficiency. Aid the Fallen has an option this deck won't use. Disentomb and Raise Dead do the important part for cheaper, or adding a couple of planeswalkers will give the second half of Aid the Fallen something to do.

some thoughts:

  • Your list looks really disconnected. Hedron Crab, Ruin Crab and Maddening Cacophony are all focused around milling the opponent out of cards, but all your other cards are trying to do something completely different. I think you need to try and bring some focus to your gameplan.

  • To add to the last point, it looks like you're trying to make a "Crab-tribal" deck, but none of your creatures actually benefit from being crabs (i.e., you have no cards that specifically make crabs better). I think it is a mistake to confine yourself to a specific tribe for no reason.

  • Some cards have strange abilities that don't help your deck. For example, you're running Salvage Scuttler, but you have no artifacts you'd want to bounce back to hand, so this card will hurt you more than help you. Aid the Fallen is also quite a strange choice, as there are no obvious creatures that need to be in play for the deck to function.

If you want some help improving this deck, let me know what kind of direction you're trying to go with it, and I can suggest some cards.

How about Immortal Servitude to bring everything back for 4 mana? It might work better than Aid the Fallen, Call of the Death-Dweller, Forever Young.

So, do we get to go hear the Aid the Fallen story yet?

Looks like it could be fun to play. I might replace Banehound with either Eye Collector or Serrated Scorpion. I like the idea of Aid the Fallen and Forever Young in the sideboard, maybe with Ob-Nixilus or Underworld Dreams so that if you are playing against a slower deck you just keep bringing back your 1-drops with deathtouch and let your opponent draw him-/her-self to death. +1

If you're attacking their hand, you can possibly play Davriel, Rogue Shadowmage for more of that long game damage and hand disruption. Kaya's Ghostform and Aid the Fallen could recur him and/or some of your other creatures.

Suggestions for removal / maybeboard:

Suggestions for additions:

Worldgorger Dragon + Animate Dead / Dance of the Dead forms an infinite loop that you can cancel at any time. The loop blinks all of your lands into exile temporarily, allowing you to tap them before they blink out. This can be used to create infinite mana. Worldgorger Dragon isn't a good card on it's own, but it combos well with Buried Alive and your Gravebreaker Lamia. Animate Dead and Dance of the Dead are great any time because they can target creatures in anyone's GY.

Why choose Aid the Fallen instead of Regrowth when you don't have any planeswalkers? Also nice deck so +1 from me.
