Hey Guys, here is a “short” report of my 5-4 with RW-Taxes at MKM-Series.
At first some thoughts. I am not sure about the one-offs Phyrexian Revoker and Thalia, Heretic Cathar, one-offs at all and the chance to have them at the right time. Are they really worth it? The Revoker won me 1 game and was useless in 2 others.
Not sure about the Remorseful Cleric too. Most of the time, but one it was not relevant if they were Remorseful Cleric or Selfless Spirits and in this one situation the cleric was a bit better.
Jund 2-1
Win: I had a better draw and I got some good plays with my Arbiter
Loss: He had a great Jund draw. Several discard spells, followed by 2 walkers
Win: He got mana screwed on the and I got Arbiter
Jund 2-1
Win: He got stuck on 2 Lands
Loss: Anger broke my neck. He had game after, I couldn’t rebuild
Win: Mull to 5. He had only Lands and removal. Thank to Sunbaked Canyon I could keep playing creatures through all of them
Dredge: 2 -1
Loss: Hoogaak and Conflagrate
Win: He had 2 Lands. Thalia and Rest in Peace saved it for me
Win: two Rest in Peace followed by Aurelia and Slayer’s Stronghold
Abzan Devoted Company: 0-2
Loss: I started with Vial. He with Hierarch, I had a bolt for it. He Played a Devoted Druid. I vialed in and Arbiter, had Path fur die Druid and Ghost Quarter for the only green source. He played Canopy and Devoted Druid. In his next turn he Played the Visir, I vialed in Flickerwisp, but couldn’t get rid of them in my next turn. He had Recruiter already in hand.
Loss: Stall over several rounds, then he could combo off.
Humans: 0-2
Loss: He had too fast, too big bodys thank to Thalia and her Lieutenant
Loss: Thought I had a good start. Got 2 Champions with declaration on turn 3. It was close at the end. He could handle 2 Hazorets and at last copied mine with Phantasmal Image and had a dismember.
Monored-Phoenix: 0-2
Loss: Long game. He had too much card draw, with 3 Light up the stage
Loss: Shouldn’t keep the “okay hand” without Rest in Peace. He had 2 Phoenix turn 2.
Esper Control/Mentor: 2-0
Both win: He had only 3 lands in both games
Neoform: 2-0
Both win: both games he mulled to 5 and I had both games perfect hate with Arbiter and Thalia
RB-Goblins: 1-2
Loss: Stall a long time, then he could wipe my board with Pashalik Mons and Skirk Prospector, followed by a Goblin Ringleader
Win: Got his Vial with leonine Relic-Warder and he got stuck on 2 Lands
Loss: I mulled to 5, he had a great Value game: Matron, Krenko and Goblin Warchief.
