A few updates! —March 10, 2016

Argothian Enchantress is in for Verduran Enchantress: Pretty much all around better for this deck seeing as the double green prohibited pkaying her turn three more often than not.

Sheoldred, Whispering One is in for Reya Dawnbringer: A one up in almost every way.

Herald of the Pantheon is in for Belbe's Portal. The portal is great, but I never really use it. By the time I get it out, I normally have more than enough mana to play what I want to from my hand anyway. Throwing in Herald just makes my mana go further all around. Also a big plus is the flavor.

Sorin, Solemn Visitor is in for Sorin, Lord of Innistrad: Visitor has the advantage of being a back-up in the mass lifelink department held by Whip of Erebos

Defense of the Heart is in for Jace, Architect of Thought: Jace mostly felt redundant in Card advantage area, and using Defense essentially gets my his ultimate without the weakness of being a planeswalker.

Privileged Position is in for Kiora, the Crashing Wave: While I have won a few games with her ultimate, the other abilities never did too much for me. Her -1 in particular is mostly useless in this deck with only 33 lands. Position on the other hand offers me some solid protection for most of the threats.

@TheRedGoat but Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir is more expensive than Leyline of Anticipation, and easier to get rid of. I like the Seedborn Muse idea.

what do you think about Sheoldred, Whispering One over Reya Dawnbringer?

TheRedGoat As good as Teferi is, and I do have an extra copy sitting in my binder, He just doesn't fit into either theme of the deck. He is not a god, and he is not an enchantment. I like the leyline better in this situation since enchantments are much more difficult to get rid of than creatures. Plus, the leyline gives all of my spells flash instead of just creatures.

shaderaven I absolutely love the Privileged Position/Sterling Grove lockout, but I don't know how I feel about it in this deck. What would I cut that isn't already serving an essential purpose in this deck? As for Sigarda, she would indeed negate one of this deck's biggest weaknesses, especially against All Is Dust. But I again run into the problem of what to cut from my list for it. Gods ending up in my graveyard doesn't really bother me, I specifically play a few mass revival spells because of it.As much as Sheoldred is a one up on Reya in every way, Sheoldred is far less subtle on the board. I know from experience in other decks that she immediately becomes a priority target once she hits the board, Reya on the other hand gets left alone for a few turns most of the time because people don't really pay much attention until her ability triggers on something they wanted to stay gone. That said though, I will probably test the spider queen out at some point when I'm not playing her in another deck.

ElendVenture I can see where your coming from with Sheoldred. As for what to cut:

In Garruk's Wake is a pretty expensive spell. Since most of your creatures are already indestructible, or can become indestructible with Avacyn, Angel of Hope it doesn't really matter that it says "you don't control"

Cyclonic Rift is also a little expensive for this deck. again going with the "you don't control" is good, but it doesn't remove them for good, just for a turn or two.

I would consider Darksteel Ingot redundant since you are running both Chromatic Lantern and Prismatic Omen Not to mention that most of your land taps for either any color or a choice of colors, you don't need much mana fixing.

As a personal preference I would cut Mana Flare just because it gives more mana to my opponents.

I think Jace, Sharkhan, and Sorin can be cut from your planeswalkers withouth much disruption into what they do. You have PLENTY of card advantage so Jace is meh. Sharkhan is best with dragons and you don't have any. and Sorin has a great ultimate ability, but in my experince he gets targeted too quickly and dies before he can reach it. it takes 4 turns to play him and another 4 to activate his ultimate, thats too long in my opinion.

These are all just suggestions and you do not have to listen to anything I say. If you disagree with me, please do so. This is your deck and should reflect exactly what you want it to do. Hopefully though, I have given you a few options that would seem reasonable. +1, good sir.

Looks good, +1! Second Sunrise good to save your non-gods. Replenish would also piss some people off.

Well oh my freaking goodness... I would hate to be on the receiving end of this. Thank God for sac effects, that's all I can say, as I would only ever be an opponent to a deck like this and never its pilot. Too expensive. Plus freaking one, wishing there were plus more than that to give.

shaderaven This is going to be hard! I've played this deck too much and had so many clutch interactions with the cards. First off, thank you for your suggestions, your reasons are all valid. Here are some counterpoints from my side.

In Garruk's Wake has been more than worth it's mana cost every time it's been in my hand. When I normally cast it, it's clearing the way for the win. Besides, I can't always have Avacyn, Angel of Hope on the field. The same goes for Cyclonic Rift, it's not permanent removal, but it has either cleared my way or saved my life more often than not.

Darksteel Ingot enables the rare turn 4 Progenitus, not so sure I'm ready to give that up yet.

The thing about Mana Flare is the politics involved in it, it turns me into the middle east. No one likes me, but they don't want to lose their precious double mana either. :p I am willing to cut this one, but only for another mana doubler. I'm thinking maybe Zendikar Resurgent or Mana Reflection.

Jace, Architect of Thought can go. He provides some good advantage if I got a slow start, but overall he's kind of meh. Sarkhan Unbroken though, his +1 is used every turn when he's out. I kind of use him more for the mana than the card draw. If I can get him out on turn 4, he sets me permanently ahead. Turn 5 he catches me back up if I'm behind. Most people see him and think only of dragons, but my philosophy is to never play a planeswalker for their ultimate. If he was an enchantment with the same cost that only had his +1, he'd be in every deck you could shove him in. Now for Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, I keep meaning to switch him out for Sorin, Solemn Visitor. It would be nice to double up on the global lifelink effect from my whip.

Plsdontquit I've been considering Herald of the Pantheon for a minute now. I'm not so sure about cutting out Reya Dawnbringer though, she does work.

Akyoni1 People keep suggesting Captain Sisay, but I keep not having a copy of her. :p When I finally get a hold of one, she will certainly be tested.

Jimmy_Chinchila Second Sunrise WOULD make a good counter to All Is Dust, I shall certainly consider it.

nyctophasm Unless you cast All Is Dust, your sac effects will only succeed in turning off my devotion for a minute. The gods will always return, and in greater numbers! :D
