Sideboard

A slightly different take on Stoneblade for modern. In stead of going ham on the control portion of the deck with extra walkers, the 4th snap and more control spells, this version is trying to play a mid-range game of tempo control. The upside for this deck vs the other Stoneblade lists is that it never needs to go shields down. With the inclusion of non-spell answers in Judge's Familiar and Ranger-Captain of Eos , this deck can more reliably tap out for the walkers, Batterskull or the odd sword. In addition to this, the deck also generates more card advantage than the other Stoneblade lists because every other card replaces itself. The sideboard is still a work in progress, but it feels solid in my local meta. I would probably add another surgical to combat tron, and maybe the Gideon isn't needed.

Possible Changes:

Serum Visions -> Opt (this deck appreciates the consistency over the instant speed I think)

-1 Sword -> +1 Stoneforge (because of the higher creature count I like 2 swords, but that might not be right)

-1 Familiar -> +1 Ballista (feels powerful but the blue spell for force is also good)

-1 Ranger -> +1 Jace/Teferi (I honestly like 3 Rangers but it is a bit situational)
